Ryan Reynolds web price after Wrexham sale, Hollywood divorce, UK claims and FA Cup glory
Ryan Reynolds was at Wrexham’s epic FA Cup third round win over Nottingham Forest, as the Hollywood actor’s fortune reaches an eye-watering sum through savvy business deals
Ryan Reynolds experienced a rollercoaster of emotions during another historic night in the extraordinary Hollywood tale of AFC Wrexham.
The movie superstar jetted into North Wales with his mum to witness the Championship side’s FA Cup third round face-off with Premier League team Nottingham Forest. Every moment of that journey proved worthwhile as Phil Parkinson’s squad delivered an inspiring performance, defeating Forest on penalties after a match that will be etched in memory for years to come.
Wrexham surged ahead with a two-goal lead before half time, extending it to 3-1 with less than 20 minutes remaining. However, a double from Callum Hudson-Odoi took the tie to penalties, with the home team sending their fans home overjoyed – clinching a 4-3 victory. Reynolds was present to soak up the drama, marking another thrilling chapter in their exceptional season.
In addition to anticipating a fourth round tie, Wrexham are firmly in the Championship play-off fray, having won their last four matches consecutively.
A fourth successive promotion would not only make history but also significantly boost Reynolds’ wealth. Mirror Football delves into the Deadpool actor’s financial status as his club gears up for another significant milestone, reports the Mirror.
Reynolds’ colossal net worth
Reynolds’ astute business ventures have garnered significant interest in recent years. The Canadian star has demonstrated a flair for savvy investments and is now estimated to have a net worth between £300million and £336m.
A hefty portion of that valuation reportedly stems from his shares in Mint Mobile, which T-Mobile snapped up in 2023, with his stake rumoured to be worth a whopping £200m. He also held a 20% slice of Aviation Gin before it was gobbled up by drinks giant Diageo in a deal valued at around £450m.
Reynolds and Rob Mac (formerly McElhenney) have since flogged a chunk of Wrexham to Apollo Sports Capital (ASC), marking another leap forward, with the club now valued at a staggering £350m.
Earlier this year, the pair managed to claw back £15m in loans from the club, and it’s savvy moves like these that highlight their business acumen.
And let’s not overlook Reynolds’ main hustle in the acting world. Projections estimate his annual earnings from acting gigs to be around £100m, a sum made up of new roles and residuals from past performances.
Moreover, Reynolds played a crucial role in propelling Wrexham into the spotlight, primarily through their FX show Welcome to Wrexham. This is yet another income stream where he and co-owner McElhenney will hold a larger stake, translating to a bigger cut of any profits made.
Hollywood heartbreak
Reynolds is happily married to actress Blake Lively, and they are proud parents to three daughters and one son. However, before Lively entered the scene, he was previously wed to another Hollywood darling, Scarlett Johansson.
The romance began shortly after his split from former fiancée Alanis Morissette and moved at breakneck speed. Reynolds and Johansson revealed their engagement just over a year after making their relationship public, before walking down the aisle in September 2008.
The marriage wasn’t destined for longevity, however, falling apart after just two years when the pair revealed their separation. By July 2011, the divorce was finalised, and mere months afterwards, Reynolds confirmed his relationship with Lively.
In May 2011, Reynolds confessed he was still “in pain” following the Johansson breakup and has remained largely silent about their time together.
Johansson, meanwhile, described Reynolds as “a good guy” when his name came up during a 2023 appearance on Gwyneth Paltrow’s Goop podcast.
UK relocation comments
With his place in Wrexham folklore already secured, fans of the Red Dragons are eager to see more of Reynolds. It’s barely shocking given the club’s remarkable turnaround under his stewardship.
Speculation about a permanent move across the pond has surfaced time and again in recent years. The Reynolds family were even allegedly reported to have purchased a £1.4m property in the north Wales village of Marford, though the actor swiftly dismissed these reports.
“I mean I’ve got four kids here in New York,” he clarified during a 2023 appearance on the Fearless to Devotion podcast.
“There was an article that said I’d bought a home over there, but that was not accurate at all.
“Look, we love it, but to move our entire families over there, that would be a real act of superior black belt manipulation on my part. I can pull off a few things, but I don’t think I could pull that off.”
He later joked: “But both my wife and I love coming over. But we both love going to California – and we don’t live there! Maybe one day, who knows.”
