BREAKING Sir Alex Ferguson’s horse dies as Kalif Du Berlais in tragic fall at Kempton

Paul Nicholls’ team have been rocked by the tragic passing of stable star Kalif Du Berlais after a fall at Kempton on Saturday.

The six-year-old, part-owned by the Manchester United legend Sir Alex Ferguson, was contesting the Grade Two Coral Silviniaco Conti Chase when he unseated jockey Harry Cobden heading into the final stages of the race.

ITV Racing’s coverage of the action has since confirmed that the horse has passed away. His death is the second of the day after the tragic passing of Wertpol during a Juvenile Hurdle race earlier at Kempton.
