Man who threatened to shoot Travis Kelce and Patrick Mahomes at Morgan Wallen live performance information movement to dismiss

A concert-goer who was charged with making a ‘terroristic threat’ against Kansas City Chiefs stars Travis Kelce and Patrick Mahomes has petitioned for the felony charge to be dismissed.

Aaron Brown allegedly threatened to shoot the two NFL players at a Morgan Wallen concert at Arrowhead Stadium – the home of the Chiefs – in a social media post in August 2024.

Brown, who was 23 at the time, has now filed a motion to dismiss the case against him, claiming that he didn’t make any ‘real threats.’

According to the Kansas City Star, Brown’s attorney claimed in the motion that the charges against him violated his free speech and due process of the law.

Detectives and intelligence analysts working the country star’s concert were monitoring X for online threats and suspicious posts, when they identified Brown’s.

‘Mr. Wallen at Arrowhead with the wife. If he brings out Mahomes or Kelce I’ll take the f***in’ shot. F*** em,’ the post, which was shared by the account, ‘Gooey Bag,’ read.

Mahomes and Kelce had attended the concert along with Chiefs teammate Chris Jones and Mahomes’s wife, Brittany.

The Super Bowl champions had walked Wallen on to the stage on the singer’s customary ‘tunnel walk,’ which became a tradition throughout his tour with other notable celebrities.

Brown’s girlfriend, who accompanied him to the show that day, said that he made the post while they were driving from Lake of the Ozarks to Kansas City, according to the motion.

She apparently told him not to post the tweet but he still did so and told her that nobody would see it.

The X account in question reportedly only had 92 followers at the time and the post was deleted before Brown was approached by the detectives.

At the request of the Kansas City FBI, X disclosed account user information to police. Using that information, detectives were able to contact Brown using a phone number provided.

Brown reportedly identified himself and informed police of where he was located in Arrowhead Stadium. The concert was ultimately delayed 40 minutes due to the threat and subsequent investigation.

Police documents at the tome stated that Brown told officers ‘it was a stupid, stupid, stupid mistake, when questioned over the post.

He was charged with terroristic threat in the second degree, a Class E felony, the following day.

When the concert finally got underway, Kelce and Mahomes joined Wallen on his tunnel walk. The artist sported a red Kansas City jersey with the No 7 – the jersey number belonging to controversial kick Harrison Butker – with his own name emblazoned on the back.
