Silence of the Lambs’ Buffalo Bill home now obtainable as Valentine’s Day Airbnb
Buffalo Bill’s House, the iconic filming location for serial killer’s lair in the 1991 Oscar-winning thriller The Silence of the Lambs, is now available to book for a Valentine’s Day weekend getaway
An Airbnb where Oscar-winning thriller The Silence of the Lambs was filmed 35 years ago is now offering a Valentine’s Day weekend break. Film-loving couples can now spend their romantic weekend in the on-screen serial killer’s residence.
Buffalo Bills House is currently accepting bookings for Valentine’s Day celebrations, marking the film’s 35th anniversary. In the film, Anthony Hopkins’s menacing Hannibal Lecter assists FBI detective Clarice Starling, played by Jodie Foster, in hunting down serial killer Buffalo Bill, portrayed by Ted Levine.
The actual property used for the serial killer’s lair – situated in Perryopolis, Pennsylvania and, in the 1991 film, partially decorated with human remains – is now available to reserve for £544 ($745 USD) per night.
The Valentine’s Day break is available from 7 to 15 February, as reported by NeedToKnow. On arrival, guests will receive a complimentary selection of Chianti – Lecter’s preferred pairing with human liver and fava beans – Champagne, or sparkling cider.
A “Silence-themed Valentine’s cake”, featuring images of Buffalo Bill and Hannibal Lecter, can also be included in the reservation.
Chocolate roses are provided upon arrival as well, whilst the master bedroom will showcase a rose petal heart arranged on the moth bedding.
Guests also receive a Buffalo Bill’s House tote bag, packed with treats. A representative for Buffalo Bill’s House announced: “Celebrate the 35th anniversary of The Silence of the Lambs with a romantic stay at Buffalo Bill’s House.
“Sleep inside the real filming location from the five-time Academy Award-winning film.”
The news has sent horror enthusiasts into a frenzy. One individual quipped: “Can you please include Bill? Valentine’s Day just wouldn’t be the same sexy weekend without him.”
Another added: “This is demented and I love it.” A third declared: “What a great idea.”
Yet another chimed in: “OK, I want to see the basement.” And a fifth movie fan stated: “Nobody wants to sleep in a bedroom. We want the hole.”
