Emmerdale sweeps the cleaning soap gongs as Traitors additionally scores main win however there’s shock performing snubs for Adolescence at this 12 months’s TV Choice Awards

Emmerdale‘s stars are celebrating after their sweeping wins, while The Traitors bagged Best Reality Show at this year’s TV Choice Awards.

The ceremony took place on Monday evening at the London Hilton Hotel on Park Lane in the capital as some of the biggest stars descended on the location.

Comedian Jason Manford hosted the star-studded evening as winners from 18 categories were announced.

Emmerdale came out on top, beating their rivals as they picked up the awards in all three soap categories.

Bradley Riches, who plays Lewis Barton in the Yorkshire Dales-based soap, scooped the gong for Best Newcomer.

The wins continued as Danny Miller won Best Soap Performance for his role as fan-favourite Aaron Dingle.

In what many will see as a shock, Adolescence was snubbed, despite the Netflix hit winning countless gongs across the pond at the Golden Globes last month.

Its breakout star Owen Cooper was nominated for Best Drama Performance, alongside his co-star and on-screen father Stephen Graham.

However, they both lost out to Call The Midwife’s Jenny Agutter.

The ceremony brought joy for the cast of Gavin And Stacey, as its swansong was named and its co-creator and star Ruth Jones took home the trophy.

Despite their National Television Awards success last year, This Morning lost out on Best Daytime Show to Escape To The Country.

Meanwhile, James Martin’s Saturday Morning scooped the award for Best Food Show.

Before the ceremony got underway, Strictly Come Dancing’s Jowita Przystal admitted her future on the BBC ballroom series is up in the air, as she attended the TV Choice Awards.

Harriet Tyce, pictured on the red carpet on Monday, was one of this year’s Traitors stars representing the series at the awards

The professional dancer, 31, who previously sparked rumours she could be quitting the show, revealed she hopes to return – but confessed she is unsure, as she plans an extensive year of travelling.

Speaking to Daily Mail’s Laura Fox, she said: ‘I mean, I hope so, because I still don’t know if I’m back.

‘So hopefully i’m back with Strictly, but the tour is coming up, I’m planning a lot of travelling this year. Actually, so, at the moment I’m living out of a suitcase.

‘But it’s good, because normally I don’t really have time to do that. So I think 2026 is the year of travelling for me.’

As well as Jowita, Nadiya Bychkova and Helen Skelton led the glam at this year’sawards.

Professional dancer Jowita showed off her toned figure in high-waisted black trousers while her top half featured bold cutouts as she went braless for the event.
