Woman, 22, ‘stabbed to dying by brother and dumped at hospital after row over loud music’

The dying body of Jlenia Musella was dumped outside an Italian hospital as her own sibling allegedly later confessed to killing her – telling cops he hurled a knife into her back

A man has been arrested on suspicion of stabbing his own sister to death after a huge argument when she kept him awake by playing loud music after she’d spent all weekend clubbing.

Jlenia Musella, 22, was found dumped outside a hospital in Italy on Tuesday night with severe facial injuries and a deep stab wound to her back. She sadly died shortly after being rushed inside due to a knife wound causing extensive damage to her vital organs.

Her brother Giuseppe , 28, later surrendered to authorities and confessed to the crime. He has since been remanded in custody. He is said to have told cops the bust-up kicked off on Tuesday while he was “resting” and Jlenia refused to turn her music down.

He reportedly claimed: “We argued because she wouldn’t let me sleep. I threw the knife while her back was turned but I didn’t think I would hit her.”

Jlenia had spent the weekend with friends in Taranto where she went to a DJ set on Saturday night. After returning to the Naples flat she shared with her brother, a violent argument allegedly erupted, culminating in the young woman’s tragic death.

The siblings lived alone in a housing estate in Ponticelli, a neighbourhood plagued by crime and poverty. Their mother and stepfather are reportedly banged up for unrelated crimes, with the latter believed to be a high-ranking member of the Casella-Circone clan, a local organised crime group.

It is understood that Giuseppe has ties to the same criminal circles, although the exact circumstances surrounding Jlenia’s death remain unclear. Authorities are reviewing CCTV footage to identify the vehicle that dumped Jlenia outside the hospital and sped off.

The victim was reportedly punched and slapped before being stabbed in the back. “We argued. I threw the knife while her back was turned, but I didn’t think I’d hit her,” Giuseppe allegedly confessed.

Father Maurizio Patriciello, parish priest of Caivano, said in a statement: “She was stabbed by her brother because she was making noise, perhaps listening to music, and her brother wanted to sleep. So, he stabbed her in the back, and then dumped her outside the hospital.”

Jlenia was a frequent social media user and one local man told Italian press: “She was like a ray of sunshine, always glowing – it’s unthinkable that her smile is gone.”

Detectives are now piecing together the siblings’ relationship to determine what could have sparked the deadly assault as the investigation continues.
