Major medical breakthrough as boffins ‘revert destiny of most cancers cells’ in attainable miracle remedy

Experts have made a massive step forward in the fight against the disease after discovering a way to “reverse the fate” of cancer cells. New research found a molecular switch can revert the cells back into their normal state and could help lead to a potential cure

Scientists have made a big medical breakthrough which could “reverse the fate” of cancer cells and lead to a cure for the killer disease.

The research found a cancer reversal treatment which does not kill the cells but changes their characteristics to transform them into a similar state to normal cells. Researchers used new technology to observe what experts call the “critical transition phenomenon” as they analysed the very instance normal cells mutate into cancer cells.

Looking at this change experts were able to discover a molecular switch which can revert cancer cells back into their normal counterpart and could lead to massive steps towards a cure. A critical transition is a phenomenon where an object, cell or organism changes at a specific point in time.

One example of a critical transition would be water changing into steam at 100℃. This critical transition phenomenon doesn’t just occur in objects changing state, but also with normal cells when they become cancer cells at a specific moment due to the accumulation of genetic and epigenetic changes.

To make the research possible experts built a gene network computer model which can simulate the dynamic changes between genes by focusing on the data of single-cell RNA.

Leading a team of experts Professor Kwang-Hyun Cho of Korea’s Advanced Institute of Science and Technology spoke on the breakthrough the study had found.

The expert said: “We have discovered a molecular switch that can revert the fate of cancer cells back to a normal state by capturing the moment of critical transition right before normal cells are changed into an irreversible cancerous state.”

He added: “In particular, this study has revealed in detail, at the genetic network level, what changes occur within cells behind the process of cancer development, which has been considered a mystery until now.” He emphasized, “This is the first study to reveal that an important clue that can revert the fate of tumorigenesis is hidden at this very critical moment of change.”

The results of this study were published in an online paper in the international journal “Advanced Science” on January 22nd.

The breakthrough in cancer research comes after leading research found cancer rates in women are rising despite men being more prone to developing the condition. Data from the World Cancer Research Fund shows that the number of women in the UK being diagnosed with cancer rose by 3.7 per cent between 2019 and 2021. Figures for men climbed by 0.2 per cent during the same timeframe.

The gap in case numbers between males and females also narrowed from approximately 12,900 in 2019 to 6,500 in 2021, the statistics showed. New figures from Cancer Research UK indicate that cases amongst those aged 25 to 49 jumped by 24 per cent between 1995 and 2019. Nevertheless, nine in ten cancer diagnoses occur in individuals aged 50 and above.
