What the ‘excellent man and girl’ appear like in line with Brits from totally different ages

Cosmetic surgery experts have released new findings on what different generations find most attractive in a potential partner, and the results are very interesting

Brits from different generations have given their take on what they desire in the “perfect” partner. And yes – there’s hope for the Short King, as long as you’re trying to bag a hot date with a ‘Boomer’.

Boffins from CREO Clinic have surveyed 1,000 Brits about the physical qualities they find most appealing.

According to the Boomers (born between 1946 and 1964), the perfect bloke stands between 5’7″ and 5’9″, boasts a traditional build, blue peepers, and dark brown locks. The ideal woman, in their view, sports blonde tresses, a button nose, and plump lips.

On the other hand, the youngest demographic surveyed, Gen Z (those born from 1997 to 2012), expressed a preference for men with an athletic physique and women with raven-black hair.

“Overall, the research shows that preferences for attractiveness shift from lighter hair in Boomer women to darker hair and more athletic body types in Millennials and Gen Z,” the CREO Clinic explained.

“Men are generally most attractive with inverted triangle or trapezoid shaped builds, while the hourglass figure remains the preferred body type for women.

“Eye colour moves from blue in Boomers to brown in later generations, and wavy hair is typically favoured for men, whereas straight hair is more often preferred for women.”

CREO Clinic, a cosmetic surgery practice located on London’s prestigious Harley Street, embarked on research to explore how our physical attractions evolve throughout various life phases.

The study involved one thousand volunteers who were divided into four distinct generational groups – Boomers, Gen X, Millennials and Gen Z – and were questioned about their preferred partner’s age, eye colour and shape, nose, lips, hair, height, body type and skin tone.

For Gen X men (those born between 1965 and 1980), almond-shaped brown eyes were the top pick, along with a button nose and heart-shaped lips.

Dark brown hair was the most favoured colour, while a short fade emerged as the preferred hairstyle.

When it came to body shape, Gen X didn’t show a strong preference, although the trapezoid build was the most popular choice.

Interestingly, this group leaned towards slightly taller men than Boomers, with heights ranging from 5’10” to 6’0″ being the most popular. For Gen X women, almond-shaped brown eyes, a button nose, and full lips were the top choices – coupled with a round face shape, and straight, light blonde hair of medium length.

Next was millennials, those born between 1981 and 1996. For men, almond-shaped brown eyes remained the favourite, along with button noses, full lips and an inverted triangle face.

Once again, dark brown, wavy hair topped the list, styled into a short fade haircut. Height preferences showed a slight increase compared with the oldest generation, with 5’10” to 6’0″ selected as the most popular choice.

The preferred body shape was an athletic build. “This shape is characterised by broad shoulders, a narrow waist and hips, and often a muscular upper body,” explained CREO Clinic.

For women, rounded brown eyes again proved popular, alongside a button nose, full lips, and a rounded face shape.

Finally, the researchers questioned Gen Z (born between 1997 and 2012) about the physical attributes they find most attractive.

For males, almond-shaped brown eyes were the preference, along with a button nose, full lips and an inverted triangle face shape.

Dark brown, wavy hair in a short fade was the most popular choice – continuing the generational trend seen in Millennials and Gen X.

The ideal Gen Z woman was found to have almond-shaped brown eyes, a button nose, a heart-shaped face, and full lips.

“Research shows that lip fillers continue to be a popular treatment in the UK, and Gen Z patients are showing more interest in treatments targeting their lips,” CREO Clinics said.

Long, black, straight hair was favoured in this group, showing a contrast with the older generations, who prefer lighter and shorter hair.
