Liz Truss says ‘Labour illuminati and deep state’ will nonetheless run UK after Starmer’s gone
The deluded ex-PM, known for her brief and destructive spell in Number 10, has launched a bizarre online rant about shadowy secretive societies running the country even if Sir Keir Starmer steps down
Lettuce Liz Truss claims the UK will still be run by the “deep state” and the “Labour illuminati” even if Sir Keir Starmer does resign as Prime Minister.
The deluded former PM, 50, likened Sir Keir to former Tory leader Theresa May and claimed he will be replaced by Angela Rayner, the party’s “Boris”, who will “fail to achieve anything” due to the mysterious body “still pulling the strings”.
She then predicted Ms Rayner will be replaced by Wes Streeting, who she dubbed the “Rishi Sunak of the Labour Party” before claiming: “Nothing will change and Labour will be crushed in the 2029 election.”
The deranged online rant came as pressure mounted on the PM to resign over the Peter Mandelson scandal.
Scottish Labour leader Anas Sarwar became the most senior party figure to demand Sir Keir quit over the appointment of the former US ambassador despite ties to paedo financier Jeffrey Epstein.
Truss, who lasted just 49 days as PM in 2022, wrote: “Keir Starmer is the Theresa May of the Labour Party. If we follow the logic of what happened in the Tory Party:
“Labour members will ultimately replace Starmer with their favourite Angela Rayner, much as Theresa was replaced by Boris. She will fail to achieve anything as the strings will still be pulled by the Labour illuminati and the British deep state.
“Labour MPs will tire of this and will eventually crown Wes Streeting, the Rishi Sunak, of the Labour Party – who is a creature of the system. Nothing will change and Labour will be crushed in the 2029 election. NB there is no Labour Liz Truss!”
Truss, who lasted less time than it took for the Daily Star Lettuce to rot in the video that went viral, sparked a flood of mockery with her latest ramblings.
One social media quipped: “There is no Labour Liz Truss! And for that we are eternally grateful.” Another joked: “You are the Liz Truss of the Conservative Party. Perhaps it is best to sit this one out.”
A third said bluntly: “The illuminati. Give it a rest you massive crank.” A fourth shared a picture of The Daily Star’s famous iceberg lettuce, adding: “Where even a lettuce is more cogent than the former PM.” Someone else joked: “There was barely a Tory Liz Truss.”
Downing Street insisted Sir Keir would not quit following Mr Sarwar’s demand, insisting the PM had a “clear five-year mandate” to deliver change from voters.
