Negros Kanlaon Volcano in ‘ongoing explosive eruption’ as residents warned ‘keep alert’

A huge volcano on a Philippines Island has erupted as locals have been told to “stay alert” after a huge ash cloud takes over the sky.
The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) reported an “ongoing explosive eruption” at Kanlaon Volcano on the Negros Island on Thursday afternoon (February 19).
Videos online show a huge ash cloud takeover the skies with reports the plume can be seen for over five miles.
According to Phivolcs, the eruption occurred after they observed a series of seismic activities in the area.
