Man Utd information: Mason Greenwood given readability after Michael Carrick admission
Michael Carrick’s Manchester United return to action this weekend as they look to secure Champions League qualification, with Mason Greenwood settling under new Marseille manager Habib Beye
Manchester United will resume Premier League duties against Everton on Monday evening. They control their own destiny regarding Champions League qualification, with Michael Carrick guiding his squad into fourth position with 12 fixtures left to play.
Outcomes between now and May could prove decisive in determining whether Carrick continues as manager past this campaign. The ex-United midfielder was appointed as interim boss following Ruben Amorim’s dismissal but has been building his argument for a prolonged tenure.
Meanwhile, one of United’s ex-players finds himself amid significant upheaval. Here are Daily Star Sport’s latest updates from around Old Trafford.

Former Manchester United striker Mason Greenwood has welcomed a new boss at Marseille. Habib Beye, the Senegal international centre-back who made over 100 Ligue 1 appearances for the French outfit, has assumed control after a stint managing Rennes, reports the Mirror.
Beye steps in for Roberto De Zerbi, who departed following a 5-0 drubbing at the hands of Paris Saint-Germain. Sporting director Mehdi Benatia also seemed poised to leave, but his departure was reversed just in time to greet the incoming manager.
“The choice of Habib Beye as OM’s new coach is fully in line with our desire to recruit a coach with the leadership skills needed to take charge of a team that obviously needs to be re-motivated after a difficult period on the pitch,” stated Benatia.
Greenwood transferred to Marseille from United shortly after De Zerbi’s appointment in 2024 and netted 21 league goals last season. He has 14 this term, more than any other player in Ligue 1 at the time of writing.

Manchester United’s Under-18s had Michael Carrick and assistant Travis Binnion present as they triumphed 4-1 over Oxford United to advance to the FA Youth Cup quarter-finals. However, manager Darren Fletcher disclosed he didn’t inform his players until after their win.
“I’m not sure if they’re aware of it, to be honest,” Fletcher confessed to MUTV. “I didn’t want to draw their attention to it and add more pressure, so ultimately it’s just great that they were there.
“Whether the players were aware of it, I’m not sure, we just stayed in our own little bubble and I didn’t want to allude to the fact that the first-team manager was there and the staff were there.
“I think the biggest thing is they’re there to support and get their eyes on the players and that’s amazing.”
