Infamous ‘leering’ Andrew picture now dated to 2010 journey to chop Epstein off
As pressure mounts on Andrew Mountbatten Windsor to tell all to Congress about what he knew about Jeffrey Epstein, one major question surrounding the files has been answered
A bizarre photograph of Andrew Mountbatten Windsor on all-fours leering over a young woman is believed to have been taken during his 2010 trip to Jeffrey Epstein’s New York apartment.
The infamous snap – in which the tanned then-prince gawks directly at the camera – was likely to have been taken when Andrew claimed was the last time he visited his paedo pal. But it was previously reported he kept in touch with Epstein well beyond this trip in December 2010.
And sleuths have studied the image in which the ex-Duke wore light blue jeans with a pleat and a rolled-up white shirt – similar clothes to what he was pictured wearing with Epstein during their infamous walk in Central Park.
The photo – released in a recent batch of the Epstein files – was said to have been taken inside the financier’s Manhattan mansion, though it had been undated.
Now an investigation by the Sun revealed it would have likely come from his five-day visit to Epstein’s swanky pad in New York’s Upper East side when he claimed he had cut ties with Epstein, who had been jailed for soliciting sexual acts from a minor.
A dossier of evidence compiled by the newspaper reveals the photo came at the end of 2010, during Andrew’s trip which included with a huge dinner party and high-profile meetings with A-listers.
The photo was said to have been taken in the dining room of the apartment, as worked out by leopard-print chairs that dotted the room.
A second photo, this time of the ex-prince placing his hand on the woman’s midriff, seemed to confirm this idea when snapped from a different angle.
Currently, the identity of the woman remains unknown as her face was redacted in the photos. She is now believed to have been a well-known businesswoman based in the United States herself, but has not come forward to confirm her identity.
Meanwhile, some of the ex-Duke’s personal protection officers were put up at the apartment completely free of charge. Former head of royal protection Dai Davies admitted that this new information only adds to the growing lies told by Andrew to get away with his friendship.
“This photo being taken in 2010 shows Andrew lied about the nature of the trip and the extent of his relationship with Epstein,” he said. “Key questions must now be asked of his protection officers who were there.”
It comes as the Met Police continues to appeal to Andrew’s former bodyguards to come forward with any information they may have about his actions in the late 2000s. Meanwhile, Andrew has always insisted his innocence in the case, saying he was completely unaware of what Epstein was up to.
