Angel Di Maria’s wife ‘wanted to kill herself’ over ‘disgusting food and 2pm night-time’
Angel Di Maria’s wife Jorgelina Cardoso has once again torn into their brief spell together in Manchester and said that ‘everything was perfect’ until they moved to England.
Di Maria had tasted Champions League glory with Real Madrid before agreeing to a £59.7million move to Manchester United in a deal that would be called the worst of the season.
He made just 32 appearances for the club before pushing for a move to PSG – after which his wife has been vocal about how much she hated living in England while tearing into the food, weather and general public.

Speaking to Argentine TV show LAM, Jorgelina openly admitted that she never wanted her husband to join United from Real Madrid in the first place.
She said: “Angel came to me one day and said: ‘Look at this proposal from Manchester United’.
“I didn’t want to go, I told him to go alone. ‘Let’s go both of us’, he replied. It was a lot of money, more than the Spaniards had offered.”

Going on to say: “People are all weird. You walk around and you don’t know if they’re going to kill you.
“The food is disgusting. The women look like porcelain.”
And concluding: “Angel and I were in Madrid, at the best team in the world, perfect food, perfect weather, everything was perfect. And then came United’s proposal…
“I told him ‘no way, no way’, but he kept saying we will be a little more financially secure and we have to go.
“We fought about it… We try to be closer when things go wrong.
“I don’t blame him for going there. It was horrible, so horrible. I just told him, ‘Darling, I want to kill myself, it’s night time at two o’clock.'”
Di Maria lasted just one year into his bumper five-year contract, but did manage a respectable 12 assists across his 32 appearances and four goals.
Their spell in England was also soured by an incident at their house in February of 2015 in which thieves targeted their belongings.
He had said of his own departure back in 2016: “I started very well, then I had problems with people in the club.
“I started going to the bench, this happens in football. After the robbery at my house, everything made me want to leave quickly.”
Having gone on to impress with PSG and win five Ligue 1 titles as well as 13 domestic trophies, the Argentina international joined Juventus in the summer.
He scored his first goal for the club on his debut against Sassuolo – but had to be withdrawn after suffering from an injury.
