Princess Anne and Mary Berry be a part of star-studded forged at Cheltenham on Gold Cup Day

Princess Anne and Mary Berry have joined a star-studded cast of celebrities at the fourth and final day at Cheltenham.

The Princess Royal and the culinary icon were spotted cheering on the horses as the races came to a dramatic close.

With the temperature not rising above ten degrees in Gloucestershire, Anne and Mrs Berry dressed accordingly wrapping up in warm coats and jumpers.

Anne was also at hand to award racing jockey Paul Townend with his trophy after he won the Gold Cup with his horse Gaelic Warrior.

The Princess Royal and Mrs Berry’s day out at the races was well and truly a family affair. The 90-year-old Mrs Berry was joined by her daughter Belles Berry while Anne’s two children – Zara Tindall and Peter Phillips – were also at Cheltenham.

Zara was at the races with her husband Mike Tindall and Mark was with his girlfriend Harriet Sperling, who cut a chic figure in a £2,550 Winchester Coat Dress from Suzannah London.

The 44-year-old Zara, who also attended earlier this week, cut an elegant figure in a crimson coat, teamed with brown leather boots.

There were multiple other celebrities spotted by the race course including reality tv star Georgia Toffolo who was seen enjoying the festivities with Jeremy Clarkson.

Mrs Berry was also joined by actress and star of last year’s Celebrity Traitors Celia Imrie.

Former footballer Graham Souness was also in Cheltenham as was former rugby union player Phil Vickery.

Elsewhere, glamorous racegoers dressed in flamboyant headgear, fur coats and thigh-skimming outfits were been spotted celebrating their wins and raising their drinks to the finale of the festival, Gold Cup Day.

Not only did the cheerful revellers have a joyous time – they also appeared determined to go all out for the final day of the annual occasion.

Alongside classic spectator attire – including fur-trimmed coats, tweed suits and statement hats galore – there was plenty of racegoers determined to get themselves noticed in the style stakes.

The last day of the four-day race meet, which originated in 1860, also saw spectators donning bright and bold colours in the sea of tweed and tartan.

The event also witnessed revellers turn out in all kinds of headgear, including one man who arrived in an oversized, Russian-style fur hat.

While some wrapped up to protect themselves from the March chill, others took a different approach and bared their legs for the jam-packed day of racing events.

The Gold Cup, run over three miles and two-and-a-half furlongs, is one of the most prestigious events in the jumps racing calendar.

The races drew to a dramatic close with Gaelic Warrior and his jockey Paul Townend taking home the Gold Cup.

Gaelic Warrior was the joint favourite 11-4 to win the race alongside Jango Baie – who finished second.

While the 2025 winner, Inothewayurthinkin, came third and Harry Redknapp-owned horse Jukebox Man finished eighth.

Mr Townend also won the Champion Hurdle on Tuesday racing with the horse Lossiemouth.

Speaking after the victory, Gaelic Warrior’s trainer Willie Mullins told ITV: ‘What a performance and what a performance from the owner. The first time an owner has won the Champion Hurdle and the Gold Cup in the same season.

‘The dominance of Gaelic Warrior against a good field on paper – fantastic for them all.’
