‘I went to Benidorm for Cheltenham and one factor made it the right expertise’
Thousands of Brits flew to Benidorm this week to enjoy the iconic Cheltenham racing festival.
To see if one of Britain’s favourite holiday destinations could live up to the hype and deliver a one-of-a-kind Cheltenham experience, I jetted down to Benidorm with the team from Freebets . My time in Benidorm was action packed as the nail-biting races had massive crowds of Brits on the edge of their seats in excitement throughout the festival.
As the first race came to a start punters across the city lit up the streets. Thunderous cries of excitement boomed out from sports bars, pubs and pool side watching areas.
As someone who has never been to Benidorm before I was absolutely blown away by the extensive night life the city has to offer as there are clubs, pubs and countless restaurants sprawled across the city.
The city’s notorious nightlife ensured the action never stopped even after the races for the day had finished and the Spanish sun had set. During my trip I had spoken to numerous punters who gave me several reasons as to why they had chosen to jet down to Benidorm to “Beniyork” to enjoy the festival.
Many pointed to just how cheap their trip had been, pointing to great value for money holiday flights to Spain and pints across the city only costing a couple of Euros.
Others said they had travelled to the country to enjoy the Spanish weather instead of Britain’s infamous grey skies. However, my time in Benidorm was plagued by rainy spells as the Spanish sun was didn’t bless the festival with sunshine this year
After a few days of betting with Freebets I was convinced that experiencing Cheltenham in Benidorm was the perfect experience and this one reason made it the best way to experience the races.
There was something so relaxing about being able to wander to the bar and grab a cold one and then return to a poolside table under a sun umbrella while waiting for the next race to get under way.
The races kept their intensity and the entire experience was only elevated as the relaxed vibes of the Spanish saoire made for an unforgettable experience.
The fusion makes for a one of a kind racing experience and elevated my experience as a punter at the Cheltenham racing festival to new heights.
