Police hunt ‘masked males armed with blades’ after battle outdoors Asda grocery store wounded two, 17 and 24

A boy was slashed outside a Nottinghamshire Asda after reports of men fighting with knives on Friday.

Officers were called to the Ashfield supermarket just before midnight to a group of men wearing face coverings.

A 17-year-old boy suffered a slash wound to his arm and a 24-year-old man injured his elbow.

Their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

No further injuries have been reported, according to Nottinghamshire Police.

The force added a cordon is still in place while officers investigate.

Detective Sergeant Adam Penn said the force was treating the incident ‘seriously’ and detectives were working to find those involved.

‘I would urge anyone who saw what happened or who may have any other information which could help us with our inquiries, no matter how small or insignificant it may seem, to please come forward and to speak to us,’ he said.

‘Similarly, we’d like to hear from anyone who may have recorded dashcam, CCTV, or mobile phone footage which may assist us with our ongoing inquiries.

‘We fully understand how concerning this will be within the community, however I want to reassure people that at this stage we are currently treating this as an isolated incident.’
