The 20 most discounted new automobiles: Drivers can save as much as £20k as sellers attempt to hit March gross sales targets
New car buyers this weekend can take advantage of motor dealers at their most vulnerable – and it means they can secure significant discounts of up to £20,000 on the latest models, according to exclusive insight from Insider Car Deals.
March is one of the biggest shop windows of the year for the new car market with the arrival of the latest number plate age identifier – in this instance the ’26’ plate.
Traditionally, the month sees increased customer demand for the newest, flashiest motors with the latest plate, with manufacturers launching specific March deals to tempt drivers to strike a deal.
But as the month draws to a close, salesmen and women will be under intense pressure to meet inflated March sales targets.
And this can create real opportunities for buyers, explains Pat Hoy, founder of Insider Car Deals who tracks real-world new-car discounts and PCP offers across the UK.
‘As March draws to a close, some dealers will push harder to get sales over the line,’ he tells us.
With this weekend being one of the last opportunities motorists will have to exploit the situation, Daily Mail and This is Money reveals the 20 cars you can get with the biggest discounts.
Car dealerships are feeling the pressure to hit inflated sales targets in March. And this makes it an ideal opportunity for buyers to take advantage by striking some massive discounts
Pat and his team of showroom mystery shoppers have identified which models are ripe for the best deals.
This expert market insight exposes what dealer discounts really are achievable and ensure that buyers do not overpay for a new car.
‘These are 20 new-car deals buyers should have on their radar before March ends – because once April begins and a new sales quarter starts, the deals available now may not look quite the same,’ Pat says.
The total savings quoted include dealer discounts, savings provided by the manufacturer across all its showrooms, and PCP finance deposit contributions.
It also takes into consideration the Electric Car Grant (ECG), which provides tax-payer-funded discounts on between £1,500 and £3,750 depending on the EV.
Here’s the countdown of the new cars subject to the biggest discounts for the rest of March, ranging across electric, petrol and hybrid options:
20. Ford Puma Gen-E – 17.5% discount
The electrified version of Britain’s best-selling new car is subject to sizable savings for the rest of March. Insider Car Deals says you can get £5,245 off some versions
Trim: 150kW eDrive20 Sport 65kWh Auto (ELECTRIC)
Retail price: £29,995
Achievable price (Insider Car Deals)*: £24,750 (£5,245 saving)
PCP monthly payments**: £260 (2.9% APR)
Ford’s low-rate PCP APR, the top-level Government EV grant, and a good dealer discount is helping to keep the Puma Gen-E competitive in a highly contested vehicle segment.
Pat says Ford is likely to raise the PCP APR of 2.9 per cent from April, so now could be a good time to lock in a great interest rate.
19. VW Tiguan – 18.1% discount
Buyers can save almost £7,000 on a petrol Tiguan for the remainder of March. It’s VW’s most popular SUV
Trim: 1.5 eTSI 130 Match DSG (PETROL)
Retail price: £39,120
Achievable price (Insider Car Deals)*: £32,295 (£6,825 saving)
PCP monthly payments**: £370 (7.9% APR)
Both Volkswagen and its dealers have been unusually generous recently in a bid to keep Tiguan in the nation’s top 10 sellers list.
This may change once the March new-reg sales numbers are added up, as Volkswagen doesn’t usually want to let itself become known as a high discounting brand.
18. BMW iX1 – 18.2% discount
Buyers this month can negotiate up to a fifth off the price of a new BMW iX3 – but experts warn the deals might not stick around from April onwards
Trim: 150kW eDrive20 Sport 65kWh (ELECTRIC)
Retail price: £43,555
Achievable price (Insider Car Deals)*: £35,800 (£7,755 saving)
PCP monthly payments**: £371 (3.9% APR)
A low PCP APR, great dealer discount and generous cash saving from BMW combine to produce a competitive monthly payment for the iX1 – a solid electric family SUV.
There is a high possibility that BMW may change the APR and/or their direct cash saving from April, so buyers should take advantage of this deal while it lasts.
17. Nissan Qashqai – 18.3% discount
Enticing discounts has been a tactic deployed by Nissan to keep its Qashqai towards the steep end of the best sellers charts in recent year. Buyers can get up to 18.3% off the SUV this month
Trim: e-POWER 1.5 HEV 205ps N-Connecta (HYBRID)
Retail price: £37,330
Achievable price (Insider Car Deals)*: £30,576 (£6,754 saving)
PCP monthly payments**: £273 (4.5% APR)
Consistently high total discounts have been a feature of Nissan Qashqai sales for some time, contributing to its position as one of Britain’s top ten selling cars in 2025.
But recent evidence of this discount level slipping might suggest that once the March sales period is finished, buyers could end up paying more for Qashqai versions.
16. Nissan X-Trail – 19% discount
Nissan’s X-Trail is huge, capable off-road and pretty frugal around town with the E-Power hybrid drivetrain featured among the biggest March savings. Buyers can get £8k off
Trim: 1.5 E-Power E-4orce 213 N-Connecta (HYBRID)
Retail price: £42,780
Achievable price (Insider Car Deals)*: £34,772 (£8,008 saving)
PCP monthly payments**: £318 (4.5% APR)
Nissan salespeople have been typically generous in agreeing dealer discounts over the last year, and that combined with a lower-than-average PCP APR means buyers can pick up this full hybrid variant of the huge X-Trail SUV for £318 per month.
But with a new sales quarter starting in April, there’s no guarantee the discounts and offers will stay the same.
15. MG4 Urban – 19.2% discount
MG’s 4 Urban has only just hit UK showrooms but already there is a generous discount on offer
Trim: Comfort Long Range (ELECTRIC)
Retail price: £25,495
Achievable price (Insider Car Deals)*: £20,676 (£4,819 saving)
PCP monthly payments**: £184 (0% APR)
MG has recently introduced a cheaper version of its top-selling MG4 and called it the Urban.
Despite that, the new model is being generously supported with an interest-free PCP deal, MG cash savings and a competitive dealer discount which – combined – means a near-£20,000 saving on what is an already very affordable small EV.
14. Hyundai Tucson – 19.4% discount
The Hyundai Tucson is among Briton’s 10 favourite new cars, based on the best-sellers list of the last few years. Yet dealers are knocking £6k off some petrol examples
Trim: 1.6T Advance (PETROL)
Retail price: £33,105
Achievable price (Insider Car Deals)*: £27,086 (£6,019 saving)
PCP monthly payments**: £262 (4.9% APR)
Hyundai has been hoping to keep Tucson’s place in the UK’s top 10 selling cars thanks to a generous dealer discount, and a competitive PCP APR and deposit contribution package.
If the sales numbers for the first three months of year show that Tucson models have sold well, Hyundai could reduce their incentive support from 1 April.
13. Audi A6 Avant – 19.7% discount
Luxurious, spacious and stylish; the Audi A6 Avant estate ticks a lot of boxes. Buyers can save almost 20% off one plyg-in hybrid trim, which is equivalent to picketing over £12k
Trim: 2.0 e-Hybrid Quattro 299 Sport (PLUG-IN HYBRID)
Retail price: £63,730
Achievable price (Insider Car Deals)*: £51,401 (£12,329 saving)
PCP monthly payments**: £563 (5.9% APR)
Audi is known for making great estate cars, and the A6 Avant PHEV is no exception. And the 19.7 per cent total saving reflects Audi’s desire to boost interest in its plug-in hybrid models.
A generous deposit contribution and 5.9 per cent PCP APR combine to produce competitive monthly payments, Pat says.
12. Skoda Kamiq – 19.8% discount
The Kamiq is Skoda’s smallest SUV with a petrol engine and is a well-respected motor. Which makes a near-20% discount this month a very attractive proposal
Trim: 1.0 TSI 95 SE Edition (PETROL)
Retail price: £25,520
Achievable price (Insider Car Deals)*: £20,689 (£4,831 saving)
PCP monthly payments**: £228 (5.9% APR)
Dealers have been increasingly willing to offer sizeable discounts to boost Kamiq sales before the end of the first quarter. That’s something of a surprise, given it’s a highly-rated motor, recently being voted the best used compact SUV by What Car?.
Buyers have to be prepared to haggle for it, but a total 19.8% discount, that includes PCP finance support from Skoda is certainly achievable.
11. Suzuki Vitara – 20.1% discount
The arrival of a new electric Vitara – with completely revised looks and a new platform – might explain why the petrol variant is subject to big discounts this month
Trim: 1.4 Boosterjet Mhev Motion (PETROL)
Retail price: £27,299
Achievable price (Insider Car Deals)*: £21,999 (£5,300 saving)
PCP monthly payments**: £270 (7.9% APR)
It is unusual that all the discount for the petrol Vitara comes just from Suzuki themselves as a cash saving against the list price. But at £5,300 it is significant and allows buyers to pick up the Motion version for £270 a month.
Pat says Suzuki is known to change their offers each quarter, so it could be best to take this deal before it disappears.
10. Ford Mustang Mach-E – 20.3% discount
The Mustang Mach-E is looking long in the tooth against the rest of Ford’s electric car range – which might explain why discounts are so large in March
Trim: 216kW Premium 91kWh RWD (ELECTRIC)
Retail price: £59,390
Achievable price (Insider Car Deals)*: £47,332 (£12,058 saving)
PCP monthly payments**: £492 (0% APR)
This is an amazing deal for the Ford Mustang Mach-E as buyers get a great dealer discount, extra cash saving from Ford and an interest-free PCP over four years.
The Mach-E hasn’t caught on with buyers as much as Ford would have hoped, so this level of support may extend beyond the end of March – but equally Ford might start to rein in it.
9. Toyota C-HR – 20.9% discount
The Toyota C-HR is a very popular hybrid compact crossover, yet dealers are will to offer higher than typical discounts this month, Insider Car Deals has found
Trim: 1.8 Hybrid 140 Icon (HYBRID)
Retail price: £31,645
Achievable price (Insider Car Deals)*: £25,291 (£6,345 saving)
PCP monthly payments**: £227 (4.9% APR)
Buyers can get double the average total discount percentage when considering the Toyota C-HR full hybrid versions.
There’s a solid upfront saving from dealers combined with generous PCP finance support from Toyota. It is unusual to see dealer discounts this high on C-HR models and they could easily fall back once the March new-26 plate month ends.
8. BMW iX – 21.2% discount
The iX is BMW’s flagship electric SUV that costs close to six figures. But buyers this month can secure a staggering saving of almost £20,000
Trim: 400kW xDrive60 M Sport 112kWh (ELECTRIC)
Retail price: £93,205
Achievable price (Insider Car Deals)*: £73,755 (£19,450 saving)
PCP monthly payments**: £738 (4.9% APR)
An almost £20,000 total saving on a premium-brand Luxury SUV is unusual in the market, and certainly makes the huge iX worth a closer look.
Pat tells us that it is hard to say whether BMW will continue with this level of discounting beyond the end of March as the effect of devaluing the model, and the BMW brand might be too much.
7. Volkswagen Golf – 21.7% discount
Even cars steeped in heritage and in huge demand are being discounted – like the VW Golf
Trim: 1.5 TSI Life (PETROL)
Retail price: £28,895
Achievable price (Insider Car Deals)*: £22,923 (£5,972 saving)
PCP monthly payments**: £270 (7.9% APR)
Volkswagen has been keen to help shift Golf variants throughout the start of 2026 with a generous finance deposit allowance linked to the PCP deal. But dealers have responded by being more resistant to discounting, and the amount they’ll offer varies widely around the UK.
Pat and his team of mystery shoppers say they expect VW to reduce the total savings on Golf from April, so now could be a great time to lock in a great deal.
6. Audi Q4 e-tron – 23.4% discount
The AQ4 er-tron is Audi’s best-selling EV model, yet the manufacturer and its dealers are shaving over £10,000 off prices in March
Trim: 150kW 40 63kWh Sport Leather (ELECTRIC)
Retail price: £46,610
Achievable price (Insider Car Deals)*: £35,955 (£10,705 saving)
PCP monthly payments**: £380 (5.9% APR)
This is another large SUV model with a total discount that sits well above the segment average.
While the amount you can save has dipped since Audi withdrew a pop-up incentive offer in February, the Q4 still offers excellent value for money, and this may change from April when a new sales campaign period starts.
5. Volkswagen ID.3 – 25% discount
The ID.3 is one of VW’s most popular electric models, yet dealers and the German car maker combined are willing to shave a quarter off the price of one trim, Insider Car Deals reveals
Trim: 125kW Essential Pure 52kWh (ELECTRIC)
Retail price: £30,860
Achievable price (Insider Car Deals)*: £23,363 (£7,497 saving)
PCP monthly payments**: £248 (2.9% APR)
Discounts have been trending lower on the VW ID.3 models in recent weeks, despite the brand’s recent announcement of the ID.3 Neo arriving as a replacement in the next 12 months.
But Pat says discounting might be linked to VW feeling they are achieving their sales targets or because the low PCP APR and total discount are combining to produce competitive monthly payments. ‘Either way, it is unlikely this level of discounting will continue into the second quarter of the year,’ he explains.
4. Cupra Tavascan – 26.6% discount
Earlier this month, This is Money revealed that Cupra dealers are offering the biggest discounts across all brands. And the Tavascan electric EV is subject to some strong deals
Trim: 210kW V1 77kWh Winter Pack (ELECTRIC)
Retail price: £48,685
Achievable price (Insider Car Deals)*: £35,740 (£12,945 saving)
PCP monthly payments**: £338 (6.9% APR)
The total discount offered on the Tavascan is more than double the average across the large SUV segment and reflects Cupra’s desire to get this model noticed and on EV buyers’ shortlists.
Dealers don’t typically like discounting Cupra models, so the more modest dealer saving is amply supported by a £10,000 PCP deposit contribution.
3. Peugeot 208 – 26.9% discount
With a March discount on a new petrol Peugeot 208, drivers can pay well under £20k for this capable supermini
Trim: 1.2 Puretech 100 Allure (PETROL)
Retail price: £25,145
Achievable price (Insider Car Deals)*: £ 18,775 (£6,370 saving)
PCP monthly payments**: £206 (6.9% APR)
Small car deals don’t come better than this for a petrol version. This deal hits the sweet spot of a generous dealer discount with extra cash saving from the manufacturer and £2,450 towards a PCP finance deposit.
Dealers may try to limit their discount contribution because of the manufacturer support, but don’t let that happen.
2. Peugeot e-208 – 32% discount
If over a quarter off a new petrol Peugeot 208 sounded enticing, how about almost a third off the retail price of an electric one? That’s a massive £10k saving
Trim: 50kWh 136 GT (ELECTRIC)
Retail price: £32,300
Achievable price (Insider Car Deals)*: £22,303 (£9,997 saving)
PCP monthly payments**: £257 (6.9% APR)
Drivers who are open to EVs will be make a bigger saving on an electric Peugeot 208 than the petrol, with a total cash saving of almost £10,000 on the e-208 versus £6,370 on the combustion version above.
Peugeot has been very generous with its cash and finance incentives during the first quarter of the year, and there is a strong possibility it might scale this back from April.
1. Vauxhall Corsa Electric – 36.1% discount
The Vauxhall Corsa Electric is the new motor being discounted most by car dealers for the remaining days in March. A 36% saving is the equvalent to pocketing over £11,500
Trim: 50kWh 100kW Ultimate (ELECTRIC)
Retail price: £33,050
Achievable price (Insider Car Deals)*: £21,480 (£11,570 saving)
PCP monthly payments**: £280 (7.9% APR)
It’s pretty clear that Vauxhall is keen to shift its Corsa Electric, and this is reflected in huge dealer discounting seen this month.
Until the end of March, a combination of manufacturer-supported deals and additional savings negotiated with a salesman or woman means buyers can save more than £11,550 on the 50kWh battery Corsa.
