Man yelled ‘honey I’m residence’ earlier than ‘making an attempt to rape mum in entrance of crying children’
The reported career criminal who allegedly broke into a family home and attempted to rape a mother while she held her 10 month old baby is described as yelling the creepy phrase upon gaining entry
A man who allegedly snuck into a family home and attempted to rape a mum while she held her young baby called out “Honey, I’m here”, according to police. Judson Defir, 43, is accused of breaking into a house in Oregon, US, on March 15.
He is accused of running upstairs and pinning down a mum-of-two while she held her 10-month-old baby and watched her three-year-old toddler. Defir allegedly tried to rape her, according to local media outlet Oregon Live.
He is said to have held the woman down on her own bed, while her partner worked outside in the garden, unaware of what was going on indoors. The mum managed to persuade Defir to momentarily release her so she could put the baby into its cot, according to a police report seen by Oregon Live.
In this brief moment of respite, the quick-thinking mum reportedly managed to escape her terrifying attacker, barricading herself into another room and calling for help. Hearing the commotion, the woman’s husband, who was working in the yard outside, then bolted inside to come to her aid.
But by that point Defir had already made an escape, according to the same police report. Before the reported home invasion, Defir, who has reportedly been arrested more than a dozen times over the past 25 years, allegedly gained entry to a church in the neighbourhood and groped a woman, before approaching to other women in the local area.
Portland Police Chief Bob Day said that the authorities were thankful that alleged victims had come forward. He said: “Our thoughts are with the women who experienced these frightening incidents. We are grateful for their courage in coming forward.
“I also want to recognise the swift and coordinated response of our patrol officers and detectives, whose quick actions helped apprehend the suspect and bring a sense of safety back to the neighbourhood.”
Defir denies the allegations against him, claiming that he had “accidentally bumped into” the woman inside her home. He also reportedly told police that he had been smoking meth that same day, before visiting the local church for a pancake breakfast, according to reports.
He was arrested the same day and has been charged with attempted rape, kidnapping, and outstanding warrants. Additional charges could follow as the investigation is ongoing. He is currently being held without bail.
