Sky News interrupted as Trump’s ‘hell’ risk to Iran overshadowed by ‘humiliating’ replace

Sky News halted programming with breaking news showing destroyed US aircraft in Iran after Donald Trump issued an expletive-laden warning to Tehran

Sky News interrupted its programming for breaking news after Donald Trump delivered a stark warning to Iran. The presenters examined the US President’s latest Truth Social post, which contained an expletive-laden threat regarding the Hormuz Strait blockade.

The on-air discussion shifted to breaking developments as a ticker appeared on screen saying: “Trump to Iran: Open the strait or you’ll be living in hell”, with the presenter explaining it had “moved on the news cycle”.

Footage subsequently emerged on screen as the presenters examined an obliterated American C-130 Hercules aircraft in Iran. Analysts confirmed the plane appeared to have been destroyed on the ground.

It prompted one expert to observe that there’s a “different narrative being played out in the media”.

He said: “I can’t make sense of it from a military perspective, there’s two counter-narratives going on here.”

On X, one user posted a clip from the programme and said: “Absolute disaster for the Pentagon. Sky News analyses footage of destroyed American C-130 Hercules aircraft in Iran. Analysts suggest the planes were obliterated on the ground 400km away from any rescue operation. Iran is absolutely humiliating the US military.”

It was claimed that Iran is sending a clear message that they can “still fight back” despite being the “underdog”.

The reaction came after Trump issued a threat to Iran, posting on Truth Social: “Tuesday will be Power Plant Day, and Bridge Day, all wrapped up in one, in Iran. There will be nothing like it!!! Open the F*****’ Strait, you crazy b*******, or you’ll be living in Hell – JUST WATCH! Praise be to Allah. President DONALD J. TRUMP”.

He later informed Fox News there was a “good chance” of reaching an agreement on Monday but he had still contemplated “blowing everything up and taking over the oil” if a swift resolution to end the war wasn’t achieved.

Last month, Trump threatened to “obliterate” Iran’s power plants if the Strait of Hormuz wasn’t fully open within 48 hours.

He said he wouldn’t initiate strikes for another five days following the expiration of the 48-hour period, reports the Express.

He justified his stance by saying that “good and productive” discussions were ongoing, although Iran refuted any claims of contact. Trump then extended the deadline to April 6.

Gen Ali Abdollahi Aliabadi of Iran’s central military command labelled the President’s threat as a “helpless, nervous, unbalanced and stupid action”, warning that “the gates of hell will open” for him.
