Michail Antonio ‘caught dashing in supercar’ weeks after near-fatal horror crash
Former Premier League star Michail Antonio was allegedly caught speeding in his £200,000 Lamborghini months after he nearly died in a horror crash
Ex-West Ham striker Michail Antonio has been allegedly caught speeding in his £200,000 Lamborghini months after he nearly died in a horror crash.
Antonio, who now plays for Qatari side Al-Sailiya, crashed his Ferrari into a tree in December 2024 – where he had to be cut free by firefighters and was airlifted to hospital and rushed into surgery. He escaped with a serious lower leg fracture.
However, three months after the near-fatal crash, the ex-Premier League star’s Lamborghini Urus was clocked by a speed camera in Birmingham. He was charged with exceeding the speed limit and then failing to provide information about the identity of the driver.
Antonio failed to attend Birmingham Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday or send a legal representative. According to BirminghamLive, Prosecutor Lucy Allen confirmed ‘no evidence’ would be offered on the speeding charge.
But she applied for a trial to proceed in Mr Antonio’s absence on the notification count. Antonio had been required by the police to provide information about the identity of the driver of the Lamborghini registered to him.
The prosecutor told the court that correspondence was sent to Mr Antonio’s address at Ledborough Gate, Beaconsfield, Buckinghamshire.
