Man caught on Ring doorbell kicking door and screaming ‘the place’s your daughter’
A man accused of a violent break-in at a California home is behind bars on $250,000 bail after doorbell footage revealed the frightening encounter in detail.
Jason Thomas Nicols, 30, is accused of threatening to kill a pregnant mother and her five-year-old child during the incident at a California home. Disturbing video shows Nicols repeatedly kicking the front door while screaming to be let inside.
He has since been charged with four felonies, according to TMZ. These include first-degree burglary, assault with a deadly weapon, criminal threats, and vandalism. A separate witness also came forward with new allegations about an encounter with Nicols and a child two days before the home invasion.

Nichols now faces a fifth charge of annoying or molesting a child under 18. Appearing in court earlier this month, the suspect pleaded not guilty to all the charges.
Wearing a prison jumpsuit and shackled at the waist, he reportedly smiled and rolled his eyes throughout the proceedings. He has also been served with a criminal protective order, with bail set at $250,000.

The video is filmed at a Fairfield home and went viral. It starts with Nicols calmly asking the homeowner to “please” open the door. “I just want to make sure everything is OK. I just figured I would check on something,” he said.
Nicols doesn’t seem to realise he’s speaking to the homeowner from afar on a live feed. “I don’t know what you want man, get out of my house,” the owner says through the doorcam microphone. Nicols then starts to smash the front door, screaming in fury.

“Open this f****** door. Where is your daughter man? Who’s in there with you,” he screams. “Open the door or I’m breaking it f****** down.”
The horrified homeowner then begs him to leave but Nicols added: “Open the door. This is my neighbourhood. Now…. Or I’ll f****** end you. Do you understand me?

Nicols eventually got inside through a sliding glass door. The husband rushed home in fear for his family and armed himself with a shovel before confronting the intruder.
Both men were left with head injuries after a fight. Police said they found Nicols outside the property and took him to a hospital for treatment before he was remanded in custody.
