‘No extra Mr Nice Guy’ Trump says Iran is ‘choking like a stuffed pig’ over Hormuz

Donald Trump has warned Iran it is “choking like a stuffed pig” as the US maintains its naval blockade amid the Iran nuclear deal standoff and Strait of Hormuz tensions

Donald Trump has asserted that Iran is “choking like a stuffed pig” after dismissing its proposal to reopen the Strait of Hormuz. Earlier today, the US President took to Truth Social, declaring “No more Mr Nice Guy” towards Iran as he posted an AI-generated image of himself brandishing an assault rifle against a backdrop of missiles hitting buildings.

In his most recent message to Iran, he was responding to its offer to open the Strait of Hormuz if the US ends its blockade of its ports – with discussions over its nuclear ambitions to follow later.

He told Axios: “They are choking like a stuffed pig. And it is going to be worse for them. They want to settle. They don’t want me to keep the blockade. I don’t want to [lift the blockade], because I don’t want them to have a nuclear weapon.”

This follows as Iran’s national rial currency plummeted to a record low on Wednesday of 1.8 million to the dollar while the fragile ceasefire with the US and Israel persists, reports the Mirror.

Trump also informed the outlet that Iran’s oil storage and pipelines are nearing capacity as they are backed up without being able to make deliveries. He is also said to have spoken to oil executives to discuss contingency plans over a prolonged blockade of the strait.

A US naval blockade during the ceasefire has ramped up pressure on Iran’s already beleaguered economy, cutting into a crucial source of government revenue and hard currency by halting or intercepting oil shipments.

In his “No more Mr Nice Guy” post, he stated that Iran does not “know how to sign a non-nuclear deal”, seemingly referring to Tehran’s three-stage peace proposal, which allegedly outlines a delay in discussions on the country’s nuclear programme.

“Iran can’t get their act together. They don’t know how to sign a nonnuclear deal. They better get smart soon,” Trump penned in a post on Truth Social.

Earlier this week, two regional officials reported that Iran has proposed to cease its stranglehold on the Strait of Hormuz if the US lifts its blockade on the country’s ports and concludes the war. The alleged offer was relayed to the Americans via Pakistan.

However, it seems unlikely that Trump would accept the proposal as it would leave the central disagreement that prompted the US and Israel to initiate a war on Iran on February 28, concerning its nuclear programme, unresolved.
