BREAKING Christmas Day wins Epsom Derby 2026
The 2026 Epsom Derby took place on Saturday afternoon with 14 runners starting the £2million race and Christmas Day ended up coming out on top
Christmas Day has won the Epsom Derby.
The 1.5-mile race, which is worth £2million, at Epsom Downs Racecourse proved to be challenging for horses and jockeys with the shocking weather not helping matters.
But the 7/1 backed Christmas Day, ridden by Ronan Whelan, came out of the 14-horse pack as the winner with King Charles and Queen Camilla watching on.
Maltese Cross, tipped at 12/1, did his best to close the gap in the latter stages but couldn’t keep up with the pace of Christmas Day and had to settle for second.
