Airbnb host finds ‘£17k injury after council rented flat for homeless particular person with 6 canines’

An Airbnb host has claimed her flat was left with £16,900 of damage in just five days after a booking she says was made by the council for a homeless guest with six dogs

An Airbnb host’s flat has been destroyed with approximately £16,900 worth of damage as the guest stayed for only five days. TikTok user Aurielle Property says her Airbnb flat was trashed after the council rented it out to house a homeless person – along with six dogs.

In video posted on TikTok, which has since gone viral, the host films herself walking from room to room around the property, showing what she alleges is extensive damage and mess. “This is actually taking a p— now,” she says, before adding: “They just used the f—— floor as a toilet.”

She claims her cleaner rang her in the morning and refused to take the job on because of the state of the place.

Filming her flat, Aurielle says in the video: “Everything was brand new two weeks ago. Look at this. It’s shocking.”

As she pans the camera around, she points to carpets and stairs she says were only recently fitted. The stairs that were once “cream” and “brand new” are now stained and grey.

The Airbnb is somewhere in the UK but Aurielle did not specify where.

Aurielle says the booking appeared to be made by “just a name of one man” and showed that the guest would be bringing six pets. But she says she later received a noise complaint from a neighbour and began to worry something wasn’t right.

She also claims the stay kept being extended, before she received a call that she says revealed who was really behind the booking. “Four, five days into this booking, it keeps getting extended and I get a phone call from the local housing group,” she says.

“And that’s when I found out that this was actually the council that booked it.” In the video, she alleges the guest stole cleaning equipment from the property.

She says: “This person has felt it absolutely okay to steal my Henry Hoover and my mop and bucket.” She then films items she claims were dumped outside.

She also appears to show damage in the bathroom, claiming: “Oh, my God, they broke the f—— toilet! Look at the toilet. It’s in the f—— wall.”

In the video, Aurielle also vents about the guest’s circumstances. She says: “Am I in the wrong to think that I should be asked if I want to take on a f——homeless person?”, before adding: “You should give your house to someone homeless.”

She wrote in the caption of the TikTok video: “My Airbnb has been completely destroyed. £16,900 of damage in 5 days.

“Every single thing has been urinated on or worse….. !!!!!!! Oh and the tax payer has to pay for it all….”
