England’s most notorious fan Astrid Wett places cash the place her mouth is in World Cup problem
EXCLUSIVE: Astrid Wett was challenged by the Internet to put her mouth where her mouth is and take a fan out to the World Cup with her . . . so she took two of them
The UK’s most infamous England fan has finally done what thousands on the Internet have been telling her to do – she’s flown two fans out with her to the World Cup. Astrid Wett, known to many as a football-mad, slightly rage-inducing online personality who is both Chelsea and England mad.
And many would have assumed that Wett would have already been on a plane out to the United States to cheer on the lads. However, to the surprise of many online – and the Daily Star, because we covered her every movement at the Qatar World Cup in 2022 – she’s been seemingly watching on from afar.
But she told the Daily Star last week that she was heading out there as soon as possible, and then declared on social media site X that she would take a fan out with her.

And after the majority of people replied to claim she wouldn’t, she actually now has – and she’s actually taken two lads with her . . . and paid for it all. The lucky winners, Will Roxby and and Oliver Bowering, took a flight to the US yesterday, with Astrid following shortly after.
The pair entered the competition with a rather well-produced video essentially begging the world to make Astrid take them . . . which worked pretty well for them. The trio have now met up in New York, and have already been filming viral videos of themselves performing dance routines in Time Square.
And speaking exclusively to the Daily Star just before meeting the pair, Astrid explained what this trip was all about. She said: “The reason why I wanted to fly someone out is because I originally made a joke about taking someone out and I had so many message say ‘all you girls say your going to do stuff and never do’.
“So here I am, actually doing it – I originally only wanted to fly one person out with me but when I contacted Will he was adamant they came as a pair. “I’m looking forward to meeting them, I’ve bought them a shirt each and I’m looking forward to sharing the journey with them hopefully to the finals.”
And Will said, after arriving in the States: “I’ve always wanted to see England play live, and the fact it was taking place in America was the cherry on top. The day before we found out we’d won, my friend and I were applying for jobs in Australia with plans to work in the coal mines.
“After four months of travelling the world, our bank accounts were running low, so we thought our travelling adventure was coming to an end. Then, out of nowhere, this opportunity came along at the perfect time. It took us a few days to get our heads around the fact we were actually about to go on this incredible trip. We had so many thoughts running through our minds.
“Was it a scam? Would Astrid actually turn up? But as soon as the money landed in our account, we knew it was real and we were absolutely buzzing!
The pair have met up with Astrid and were quick to point out that she’s “great”. Like friend Will, Oliver had always dreamed of going to see England play in a World Cup and entered because he had “nothing to lose”.
He, too, shared his thoughts on Astrid: “I’ve known Astrid for fourish days now and i think she a lovely girl and obviously very generous if she is willing to give away a trip of this size to not just one but two people.
“Our time will be spent supporting England, interacting with fans from all over the world and just simply enjoying the atmosphere in America during this time.”
Well, lets hope this trio can bring England some luck!
