Model slams airline who mentioned she was ‘bare’ and stopped her boarding flight

A model has claimed that Lufthansa staff told her she was ‘naked’ and refused to let her board her flight as she tried to scan her boarding pass at the airport

A German influencer has slammed a flight company after they prevented her from boarding their plane due to her “being naked”.

Earlier this week, influencer Edda Elisa was wearing some light clothing to stay cool in the heatwave when she attempted to board her flight in Germany. The model took to Instagram to share her experience, stating that as she attempted to scan her boarding pass, a representative informed her: “You cannot board.”

“You have nothing on. You are naked,” she was allegedly told when she questioned why she was being denied access to the flight. Despite eventually managing to board the flight after putting on a hoodie, she didn’t hold back from criticising the airline on her social media.

Posting another athletic ensemble, the influencer queried: “I’m curious to see if this outfit is boarding-worthy this time. What do you think?”

“Lufthansa takes indications of potential irregularities in the way passengers are handled very seriously and reviews such incidents internally,” a spokesperson for the airline commented.

However, Lufthansa maintained that their staff can exercise ‘due discretion’ when ensuring passengers comply with their regulations on an aircraft.

The spokesperson added: “As a general principle, Lufthansa expects all passengers to wear clothing appropriate to the nature of public travel and not to impair the well-being of fellow passengers from a wide range of countries.

“This expectation forms part of our General Conditions of Carriage. Our employees act on this basis with due discretion and within the scope of their judgment.”

Edda’s response certainly split opinion online with some feeling that her outfit wasn’t inappropriate at all, while others sided with the airport employee.
