Amazon slashes value of energy financial institution ‘actually helpful’ for summer season holidays to £17

The Bextoo Power Bank has been branded ‘a definite must have for anyone travelling’ with its ability to charge multiple devices at once

Summer holiday season is within touching distance – and Brits planning getaways are making sure they have everything they need to take with them so they can relax in peace. Conveniently, Amazon has just slashed the price of a gadget that has been described as a “definite must-have” for travelling.

The Bextoo 27,000mAh Power Bank is one of the bestsellers on Amazon when it comes to power banks, and is available for £16.94 reduced from £19.99 in a limited time deal. The high capacity of this gadget means that it can charge a phone four to five times, according to the brand, boosting it by over 60% within half an hour.

Equipped with three ports, the Bextoo Power Bank is compatible with “almost all” smart and USB-powered devices and can be used to charge three devices simultaneously, making it ideal for taking on days out and holidays this summer. In addition, an LED display shows the remaining power so there’s no guesswork involved.

With more than 6,500 reviews, the Bextoo Power Bank has earned an average rating of 4.4 out of five stars from Amazon shoppers, with several hailing it as a “must-have” for summer getaways. That being said, anyone planning to head abroad over the next few weeks should be aware of new rules in force when it comes to packing power banks.

In March this year, the Civil Aviation Authority announced changes to rules on carrying lithium batteries and power banks. The new rules state that power banks must be packed in carry-on and not in checked luggage, and should not be recharged or used to charge other devices while on board the plane.

For alternative power banks that come tried and tested by travel experts, the number one for camping trips chosen by Outdoors Magic is the Biolite Charge 20. Available from Mountain Warehouse for £44.99, this power bank was praised for its compact size and easy operation, as well as its durable design that can withstand the elements while in the great outdoors.

Meanwhile, Pack Hacker named the NITECORE Carbo 10,000 Power Bank as their top choice. “With its large capacity, lightweight design, and pocketable footprint, there isn’t much to dislike about it,” the experts said – but it doesn’t come cheap, carrying a price tag of £95.95 at Decathlon.

Returning to the Bextoo Power Bank, one Amazon shopper who bought it praised: “Great item, handy size to fit in small bags. Came in really handy on holiday to charge multiple phones. Great value for money.”

Another fed back: “Perfect for me travelling on business and for my kids when away for a weekend. One charge lasts the whole weekend, and the display telling you what you have left in the battery is a great feature. It recharges very quickly, much quicker than ones I’ve had previously.”

A third person agreed: “Great for holidays and backup power. Really good item. I can recharge a phone four times on this. It retains its power and is dependable.”

And someone else wrote: “These are amazing. A definite must-have for anyone travelling. I have one and have bought three as gifts for family, ready for their vacations, and all of them are really impressed with these.”

While 86% of shoppers have given the power bank a rating of either four or five stars, some felt that its design had room for improvement. One reviewer commented: “It does take a few hours for a full charge. I travel a lot, so I charge it in my hotels! It’s a bit bulky and heavy, so wouldn’t fit in a pocket, but for the amount of charges you can get out of it with the dual USB ports, too, it’s great for me.”

The size was an issue for some other customers, with a different reviewer complaining: “Not really portable. It won’t fit in any pocket.”

Although someone else pointed out: “This power bank is big and heavy, but has huge battery capacity. Easily keeps my iPhone 7 charged all weekend with multiple charges.”
