Young Brit dies on vacation in Ibiza after heading to hotspot with associates

Jake Tyler Duffield, 28, from Norfolk, passed away while on holiday with mates in Ibiza. He has been described as a “kind caring lad who loved the party vibes”

A young Brit has died while holidaying in Ibiza after he jetted off to the sunny hotspot with mates. Tributes have been paid to Jake Tyler Duffield, 28, from Norfolk, after he passed away on the renowned Spanish island.

The details surrounding his death remain unclear, leaving his loved ones “completely devastated”. They now face the challenging task of repatriating his body back to the UK.

“Please help if you can, this lad was my step son, a kind caring lad who loved the party vibes,” said Jake’s stepmum, Nicki Duffield, in a heart-wrenching tribute. “Jake had been part of my life since 2010, and I watched him become the lovely man that he was.”

Friends have rallied around to support the family with pub landlord Paul Sandford, from Dereham, initiating a fundraiser on their behalf, reports the Mirror. He said: “The news has left everyone who knew and loved him completely devastated.”

He continued: “Our immediate priority is to bring Jake home to the UK, where his family can finally have him close and give him the farewell he truly deserves. Unfortunately, the costs involved in repatriating someone from overseas are significant, and we are reaching out to our community for help during this incredibly difficult time.

“Every donation, no matter how big or small, will go towards the costs of bringing Jake home and easing some of the financial burden on his heartbroken family.”

Jake passed away last Friday and the GoFundMe page set up in his memory has already raised over £23,000 to provide him with the “farewell he truly deserves”.

Paul stated: “Your support, kindness, and generosity will mean more than words can express. On behalf of Jake’s family and friends, thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your compassion and support.

“Let’s bring Jake home.” The Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office has been contacted for a response.

The tragedy followed the discovery of the body of Richard Scatchard hidden inside a caravan six months after he vanished following the death of his partner, the Daily Star previously reported. The 71 year old became the subject of a police manhunt when his partner, 61-year-old Kelly Faiers, was found dead at his home in Minehead, Somerset, back in October 2023.

An inquest into Ms Faiers’ death heard how the mother-of-four, from Weston-super-Mare, was coerced by Scatchard into taking a fatal overdose of sleeping pills and alcohol.
