Argentina WAG is ‘beautiful’ former Lioness who had followers barking like canine over viral video
A former Lioness star has been supporting Argentina at this summer’s World Cup and she will be praying Lionel Messi and his team can get the job done against Spain in the final
England fans were left heartbroken on Wednesday night after the Three Lions crashed out of the World Cup at the hands of Argentina – but not everyone was disappointed.
Thomas Tuchel’s side saw their dreams of reaching a first World Cup final since 1966 go up in smoke as Lionel Messi and his team-mates came back from 1-0 down to book a spot in Sunday’s showpiece against Spain. But one former England international was left jumping for joy after the result instead. Kelci Bowers, who represented the Lionesses at youth level, admitted she was cheering on Argentina.
That was because of her boyfriend Marcos Senesi, who was a last-minute call-up to the tournament for the defending champions. “I grew up wearing an England shirt and had the privilege of representing England, so that connection will always be incredibly strong,” Bowers told The Times.

“[But] when your partner is playing in one of the biggest games of his career, naturally you want him to do well too.
“I’ll be supporting Marcos personally while still feeling incredibly proud whenever I see England on a stage like this. I’m incredibly proud of him.”
Her comments sparked a fierce reaction online, with some supporters even branding the 22-year-old a “traitor”. It is far from the first time Bowers has sent social media into meltdown.
The blonde stunner shot to internet fame after signing for AFC Bournemouth Women, with the club’s announcement video racking up tens of millions of views across social media.
Fans were left gobsmacked by the Portsmouth-born star, with some users joking that the clip had them barking like dogs, while others claimed they would become Cherries fans after her arrival.
The viral attention transformed Bowers into an online star almost overnight, helping her amass more than 340,000 followers on Instagram.
It was also around that time that she first crossed paths with Senesi, who was also playing for Bournemouth before completing his move to Spurs earlier this summer.
The pair met while taking part in a retro kit photoshoot for the club. “It was actually my first week after signing for the club, and I hadn’t really met anyone yet,” Bowers recalled
“During the shoot we had a few group photos together, as well as a couple of shots with just the two of us. Afterwards we started chatting on Instagram.
“Looking back now, it’s really special that we have those photos from the very first day we met.”
Bowers will be back in the stands on Sunday as she cheers on Senesi and Argentina in their bid to retain the World Cup.
The biggest sporting event on the planet will play out at the MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey and fans will no doubt be looking to the stands to try and catch a glimpse of Bowers.
