Covent Garden ‘stabbing’ suspect named as she’s charged after 4 males injured
The Metropolitan Police have named the 47-year-old woman who was arrest following a stabbing in London’s Covent Garden after she was charged with four counts of wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm
A woman has been charged following a stabbing in Covent Garden in which saw four men being injured. Stella Gollovena, 47, has been charged with four counts of wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm after four men were injured the alleged stabbing in central London, the Metropolitan Police said.
Officers were called at around 12.30pm on Wednesday (August 5) to reports of a stabbing on Endell Street in Covent Garden, which was busy with tourist at the time of the incident.
Four men, aged 34, 39, 42 and 56, were found with stab wounds and taken to hospital. Their injuries were all assessed as neither non-life-threatening nor life-changing and they have since been discharged.

Police arrested a 47-year-old woman at the scene, after responding to the incident within minutes. Officers attended alongside the London Ambulance Service and London’s Air Ambulance.
Gollovena has been remanded in custody to appear at Highbury Magistrates’ Court this afternoon (August 6).
An air ambulance helicopter landed in a packed Trafalgar Square, but London Ambulance Service, which was called out at 12.29pm, later said it had “treated four patients at the scene and took them all to a major trauma centre as a priority by road”.

Police described the incident as an “isolated, mental health” attack.
Chief Superintendent Jason Stewart, who leads policing in the area, said: “Officers responded within minutes of this incident after receiving a number of reports.
“While still at an early stage of the investigation, we would like to reassure the community that we currently believe this to be an isolated, mental-health related incident.”
