Sick twist in lacking mum, 29, case after police go to ex-boyfriend’s home
Alison Riley, whose legal name is Tatiana McIntyre, vanished after heading to her ex-boyfriend’s house in Fresno, California to see their two kids
A mother’s disappearance took a chilling turn after police found her butchered inside her ex-boyfriend’s home.
Alison Riley, legally known as Tatiana McIntyre, disappeared after visiting her ex-boyfriend’s house to see their two children. The 29-year-old’s family had been left fearing “foul play” after the search for their missing daughter sparked a death investigation in Fresno, California.
Alarm bells rang when the mother failed to show up at her daughter’s school to collect her. On Wednesday (5 August), Riley’s rental car was found deserted with her personal items still inside, according to NeedToKnow.
The Zipcar rental was located by family members in an orchard near McKinley and Academy – they had traced a GPS signal. Authorities seized the vehicle before obtaining a search warrant for her last known whereabouts – her ex-partner’s residence.
Riley’s family confirmed that her mobile phone last received a notification at 1pm on 4 August at the property before going offline.
A significant police presence descended on the Grove Avenue home in Fresno, California on Wednesday (5 August).
As family members waited outside, her mother Liberty Lopez claimed homicide detectives were present at the scene, as reported by FOX26.
Inside, detectives found McIntyre dead with several lacerations, authorities said. Police said Michaels initially fled Fresno after the killing but later contacted investigators and turned himself in Thursday evening. He is now locked up in the Fresno County Jail on a murder charge, with bail set at $1 million. Police Chief Mindy Casto said investigators have not yet identified a motive.
Reports suggest Riley had previously confided in her mother about alleged domestic violence incidents involving the father of her children.
These allegations included claims of him choking her and preventing her from leaving the property.
According to Lopez, these allegations had previously been reported to authorities. The former partner has allegedly failed to respond to calls from the missing woman’s relatives.
Earlier in the week, Lopez issued an urgent online appeal for her daughter. She stated: “My daughter is missing in Fresno California.
“Her phone was last at her ex’s house, her rental car was abandoned on McKinley and Academy in an Orchard in the middle of nowhere. She didn’t show up to pick up my granddaughter from school.
“I last spoke to her at 12:06pm her last location on her phone was at 1:30pm then the phone was shut off. No one has heard anything in over 12 hours. Please share, let’s find my baby girl.”
