Carabao Cup attract full as Man Utd, Liverpool and Arsenal uncover opponents
Arsenal, Manchester United and Liverpool have found out their opponents for the Carabao Cup third round with the ties set to take place in September
The third round of the Carabao Cup has taken place with Liverpool facing Tottenham in the standout tie.
After Everton, Newcastle, Spurs and Bradford progressed through on the night, the draw took place live on Sky Sports with Jamie Redknapp and Jermaine Beckford picking the balls out from the hat.
And one of the 16 ties selected was Liverpool’s blockbuster clash against Tottenham at Anfield with two teams set to lock horns in the next round. It comes after the Reds were given a home tie following the pre-draw and Spurs’ thumping 5-1 win against Championship side Charlton on Wednesday.
Arsenal, who were also among the eight Champions League and Europa League teams in the pre-draw earlier this evening, were handed an away tie at newly-promoted Ipswich Town. The Tractor Boys progressed into this stage of the Carabao Cup with a 3-1 win over League One Leicester.
