Former footballer, 32, dies as golf equipment pay tribute and ‘share ache’ with household
A footballer turned club scout and youth academy boss has died aged just 32 with his former clubs paying heartfelt tributes to the ex-defender

An ex-footballer has tragically died at the age of just 32 following a devastating health battle.
Former centre-back and defensive midfielder Wojciech Onsorge played for Polish second division side Warta Poznan at the peak of his career, before stints at fourth-tier outfits Elana Torun and Polonia Sroda Wielkopolska, then fourth division Lech Poznan’s reserve side, Lech Poznan II.
After hanging up his boots in 2021, he began working as a scout for Lech Poznan. But that same year his life-changing health problems began. He started experiencing numbness in his fingers but initially did not attach much importance to the symptoms.

It was only after consulting a doctor and undergoing tests that he received the devastating diagnosis.
An MRI revealed a tumour measuring around three centimetres in diameter, as reported by NeedToKnow. Tests confirmed it was a glioma, a malignant tumour in the parietal lobe of the brain.
Despite his illness, Onsorge – originally from Poznan in western Poland – remained involved in football.
After ending his playing career with eight goals to his name, he continued working as a scout for Lech Poznan from 2021 to 2026.

At the same time, the former 1920 Mosina and Warta Pozna youth prospect developed his own coaching work, running a football academy for young players in Lubon and Puszczykowo.
Onsorge spent almost 13 years with Warta Pozna,, making his first-team debut when the club was playing in the second-tier Polish I liga.
He experienced relegation with the club, before helping them return to the second tier.
Speaking in 2019, he said: “My fondest memory is making my debut in 2013 in the second tier against Zawisza Bydgoszcz.”
Warta Poznan described his passing as “very sad news”, while Lech Poznan said: “We extend our deepest condolences to his family and loved ones and share in their pain.”
He leaves behind his wife, Dominika.
