Burglar admits stolen thongs had been ‘for a fetish’ when confronted in mum’s backyard
A burglar who was found with multiple pairs of stolen thongs stuffed into his pockets and admitted to having a “fetish” has been jailed for his creepy crime

A burglar caught with women’s thongs stuffed in his pockets told cops they were “for a fetish” when arrested.
Stephen Poole reportedly left a mum and her daughters terrified when they discovered him in their back garden in the town of Saxon Crossway, with the startled family electing to barricade themselves in a bedroom and call the police, according to the Northwich and Winsford Guardian.
The mum, who is from Winsford in Cheshire but who has not been named, was described as being made to “shudder” after hearing loud banging and the slamming of her supposedly locked gate while in bed just after midnight on March 17. Looking out her bedroom window, she reportedly saw a bright light, prompting her to make an urgent call to the police.

When the cops arrived at the property, they discovered Poole wearing a balaclava, while a torch was also found on the ground.
Confronting the thief, cops discovered that the 35-year-old had stuffed his pockets full of knickers. When ask to describe what he had taken, the creepy criminal admitted to finding “thongs”, although claimed they had come from a bin.
Poole was arrested in the garden, although reportedly protested the decision, saying: “How is looking through rubbish burglary?”

According to the Northwich and Winsford Guardian, Poole later told police that he had “a couple of pairs of underwear on me which I got out of that rubbish”, adding that he had taken them “for a personal fetish” and that was “not a crime either.”
Despite claiming innocence, Poole was charged with one count of attempted burglary of a dwelling with intent to steal, and one of theft by finding.
He reportedly denied both charges when appearing in court, although he would eventually admit the attempted burglary charge at a pre-trial review hearing on Tuesday, August 25.

The judge presiding over the case Honour Judge Patrick Thompson sentenced Poole to 15 months behind bars, and ordered him to refrain from contacting the victim in any way.
He is also banned from returning to Saxon Crossway for the next five years.
