Meghan Markle set for main appearing return ‘in days’ as Netflix cameras ‘able to roll’
Meghan Markle could be set to return to acting, with the Duchess of Sussex reportedly set to join the cast of Netflix’s The Gentlemen, with filming said to begin ‘in days’
Meghan Markle could soon begin shooting for a fresh role, with production scheduled to commence “in days”. The 45 year old was allegedly poised to join the ensemble of The Gentlemen, with September 3 indicating that cameras would roll “next week”.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex made their way back to the UK last month, having resided in California since 2020. The pair withdrew from royal responsibilities six years ago and embarked on a new chapter in the US, but have recently chosen they wished to return.
The couple, as King Charles has now acknowledged in a statement issued on Monday, will not be resuming royal obligations. There was conjecture that Meghan was eager to return to performing, having played Rachel Zane on Suits between 2011 and 2017.
Season three of The Gentlemen was subsequently unveiled as her significant comeback to the acting realm, with the programme being a Netflix creation helmed by her mate Guy Ritchie, reports the Express.
Speaking at the red carpet launch for Season 2 recently, actor Vinnie Jones, who features in the second series, said: “There is a lot of hype about it at the moment. We start next week, and I’m looking forward to it”.
He also quipped that there are numerous “pretty girls” in the ensemble, suggesting that there might be space for Meghan.
He said: “We have got a lot of pretty girls in this, I’m not sure there is room for another one”.
The Duchess of Sussex chose to withdraw from acting after becoming engaged to Prince Harry at the close of 2017. In a chat with the BBC following her engagement to Harry, she disclosed that she doesn’t view her withdrawal from acting as “giving up anything”, adding that she was excited about her “new chapter”.
