Horny serial foot-sniffer whose DNA was discovered on shoelace is again on the streets

Alexander Scott-Bowen, 24, from Kingswood, pleaded guilty to seven counts of sexual assault against seven victims and was sentenced to 38 weeks in prison at Bristol Crown Court

A horny serial foot-sniffer who requested to sniff the feet of young girls has been jailed but is already back on the streets.

Alexander Scott-Bowen, 24, was arrested in March 2025 following multiple reports of a man sniffing and touching girls’ feet. Scott-Bowen would approach his victims, engage them in conversation about their feet or shoes, compliment them, before seizing their foot and sniffing it.

An initial police investigation took place in 2022, following reports in January, March and May. Despite launching an e-fit appeal and identifying potential suspects, Avon and Somerset Police stated there was insufficient evidence to charge anyone in relation to the incident.

The case was shelved until March 2025, when two more reports were made by young girls accosted in Kingswood under similar circumstances, reports Bristol Live.

Scott-Bowen, from Kingswood, emerged as a new suspect and was arrested on March 11 last year. While out on bail, police received additional reports of two girls being approached at Cribbs Causeway on New Year’s Eve in 2025, and a woman being approached in Stoke Gifford on January 21 this year.

He was re-arrested three days later, and the Crown Prosecution Service authorised seven charges of sexual assault against seven victims. He was remanded into custody, where he has remained.

Police connected Scott-Bowen to the 2022 Yate incidents as he was living there at the time and, following his arrest, they discovered distinctive clothing that matched a description given by one of the victims. However, more evidence was needed to link him to the case on file.

His DNA was collected after his arrest in 2025 and was found on the shoelace of one of the 2022 victim’s trainers. He was then associated with one of the 2025 incidents when one of the victims positively identified him as their assailant. He was also caught on doorbell camera footage walking alongside the victim down the street.

In January 2026, he was arrested for the last time, and his mobile phone was confiscated. During a forensic examination, foot fetish material was discovered on his phone.

On July 6, Scott-Bowen admitted guilt to all charges against seven victims. He was sentenced to 38 weeks in prison at Bristol Crown Court on Monday, September 14. However, as he has been on remand since January this year, he has now been released as the period of custody has already been served.

A Sexual Harm Prevention Order lasting 10 years was also granted, and he has been added to the Sex Offenders’ Register for the next decade.

Det Sgt Mike Coleman stated: “These attacks caused considerable distress to the victims and the wider community and we are pleased Scott-Bowen has been sentenced for these crimes.

“Throughout this investigation, we were clear in our mindset to view these incidents for what they really were – a series of sexual attacks against predominantly young girls.

“Scott-Bowen carried out his offending over a long period of time and was not even deterred by being arrested and released with bail conditions, as he went on to commit further offences.

“In pleading guilty in the face of the substantial evidence presented, he has accepted that his motives for all these attacks was his own sexual gratification.

“We want to thank and recognise the brave victims who came forward, especially those from the 2022 incident who all positively re-engage when we contact them to inform them their cases were being re-opened.”
