Man ‘masturbates in entrance of sickened passengers’ on late-night practice

Police have issued CCTV footage following allegations a man exposed himself inappropriately to fellow train passengers during a late-night journey.
The shocking incident occurred at approximately 9.55pm on Tuesday, August 18, aboard a service passing through the Stevenage area of Hertfordshire, reports The Sun.
A fellow traveller alerted British Transport Police after reportedly witnessing the man engaging in the lewd behaviour. Officers have now published CCTV stills of a individual they wish to question, believing he may have information that could help their investigation.

The grey-haired man appears dressed in spectacles, a blue collared shirt beneath a dark grey jacket, and beige cargo trousers.
Such incidents can leave fellow passengers feeling deeply unsettled, with police emphasising the vital importance of reporting concerns regardless of how trivial or uncomfortable they may seem.
BTP has consistently encouraged railway users to promptly report any suspicious or unseemly conduct, whether to train crew, station staff, or directly to constables via text message.
Anyone who identifies the individual shown in the CCTV footage is being asked to step forward and support the continuing investigation.
Witnesses or those with relevant details can text BTP on 61016 or ring 0800 40 50 40, citing reference 881 of August 18.
Information can also be shared anonymously through Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
In a separate incident earlier this year, a serial train masturbator was arrested for exposing himself to a lone woman just 12 days after being released from a jail term for similar offences.
James Gathercole, 40, was nicked after a woman noticed him staring at her from a nearby seat.
Police said that after passengers in the same carriage alighted at East Croydon, in south London, he then fully exposed himself and began masturbating while still staring at the woman on July 15 last year.
She left the train at Upper Warlingham station, in Surrey, and reported Gathercole’s actions to a member of rail staff, who contacted British Transport Police (BTP).
