Greggs fans could get their hands on luxury designer handbags worth up to £625 with their sausage rolls today – after spending just £20.

The bakery chain has teamed up with Just Eat to give away 40 pre-loved luxury handbags to customers across the UK.

Bags from some of the world’s biggest fashion brands are up for grabs, including Louis Vuitton, Christian Dior, Gucci, Prada, Burberry, Celine, Givenchy and Mulberry.

The most valuable prize is a Burberry tote worth £625, while other prizes include a £595 Christian Dior shoulder bag, a £545 Louis Vuitton bag and a £495 Gucci satchel.

The unusual giveaway comes as London Fashion Week gets underway this week – bringing together high street treats and luxury fashion. But fashion-loving Greggs fans will have to act quickly, with just 10 handbags available in each participating city.

The giveaway will take place in London, Manchester, Leeds and Edinburgh today (17 September) between 11am and 1pm – or until all the bags have been snapped up.

Customers need to spend at least £20 on a delivery order from one of the participating Greggs shops through Just Eat and add the promotional ‘Handbag Some Joy’ item to their basket.

The first 10 valid qualifying orders from each participating shop will win one of the bags, subject to verification.

The designer handbag will be chosen by Greggs rather than the customer. London’s haul includes bags from Burberry, Christian Dior, Prada, Gucci, Mulberry, Chloé and Jacquemus. Manchester customers could land the £625 Burberry tote, as well as bags from Louis Vuitton, Gucci, Prada, Chloé, Mulberry, Coach and Jacquemus.

In Leeds, the collection includes Gucci, Prada, Celine, Christian Dior and Burberry, while Edinburgh’s allocation features Givenchy, Loewe, Miu Miu, Prada and Mulberry.

All 40 handbags are pre-loved and have been sourced from luxury resale platforms.

Zoe Harris, Customer Director at Greggs, said: “From Sausage Rolls to statement bags, this might just be our most fashionable launch yet.

“By teaming up with Just Eat during London Fashion Week, we’re giving lucky customers the chance to bag an authentic designer handbag, proving that great taste doesn’t have to come with a hefty price tag.

“We’re stitching together the worlds of high fashion and everyday value in a way only Greggs can, for a deliciously unexpected twist on lunchtime.”

Amy Heather, Director of Strategic Accounts and Partnerships at Just Eat, said: “Who says a sausage roll can’t come with a side of luxury?

“By teaming up with Greggs, we’ve put a playful and accessible spin on London Fashion Week, giving customers the chance to bag something extra special with their lunch.”

The participating Greggs shops are St Mary’s Gate in Manchester, Rushey Green in Catford, London, Bond Street in Leeds and Shandwick Place in Edinburgh.

There are 10 handbags allocated to each location. The promotion is open to over-18s only and is available on delivery orders only.

Customers must spend £20 or more, excluding delivery, service and other Just Eat fees, and include the promotional item in their order to qualify.

Adding the promotional item does not guarantee a handbag, as there can be a delay before an item is shown as unavailable after all prizes at a shop have been allocated.

Only one entry and prize is permitted per person or household.
