Anton Green has gone missing in Colombia
The sister of a Manchester man who has vanished in Colombia has provided an update on the hunt for her missing brother.
Anton Green, originally from Whalley Range, was last heard from by a mate in the South American nation on August 6, 2026. His sister, Sian Tuohey, 40, said her family have grown “very anxious” after weeks have elapsed since he last made contact with a relative on August 5.
They are beginning to “imagine the worst,” Sian said. Sian told the Mirror on Thursday (September 24): “It was easy to stay positive in the beginning, but it’s got to the point definitely for me and my mum where we’re losing sleep.

“We’re very anxious throughout the day. We don’t know what’s happened but with all this time, you start imagining the worst and making up your own conclusions.”, reports the Manchester Evening News.
Following visits to several European destinations, Anton chose to journey to South America. Speaking fluent Spanish, he spent time in Colombia where he opted to make his home on the outskirts of the capital, drawn to the lifestyle, culture and affordable living costs in the country.
His family say the 43-year-old has been residing close to Bogota, staying in the Fontibon and Mesita Del Colegio districts. Relatives reveal he had recently relocated just weeks prior to his disappearance.

Yet Anton’s Manchester-based family haven’t heard a word from him in weeks. Anton is described as having dark skin, short afro hair and stands at 5ft 6.
In a conversation with the Manchester Evening News this week, Sian revealed: “One of his friends in Colombia thinks the last time he spoke to Anton was August 6. My dad spoke to him on August 5. It was a videocall, he seemed to be behaving normal.
“He said he was planning on maybe briefly going to Ecuador, we’re just not sure. He’s definitely had major struggles with his mental health at a similar time last year so for the past year we’ve been keeping an eye on him but it has been a bit of a struggle.”
Addressing Anton directly, Sian pleaded: “Get in touch with his mum or dad. We’re extremely, extremely worried. I know he doesn’t have his own children, but he’s got his nieces and siblings and we’re worried. I don’t fancy losing my brother in another part of the world.”
A representative for the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office previously stated: “We are supporting the family of a British man reported missing in Colombia and are in touch with local authorities.”
