Adult content creator Katy Hollick has revealed how she unexpectedly fell for a dolphin trainer while completing an internship at an aquarium, despite initially thinking he was “rude and arrogant”.
In an unlikely workplace romance, Katy met her partner at the time, Will, while completing her university thesis on dolphins at an aquarium in Belgium.
The animal lover had dreamed of becoming a dolphin trainer herself, but by the time she was ready to apply for an opening at the aquarium, the job had already been taken – by the man she would eventually fall for. “I’ve always wanted to work with animals,” Katy said.

“I’ve always kind of had this thing where I love dolphins, but I thought, you know, I’ll never get to work with them.” Katy (@katyhollick) studied animal care as part of a bachelor’s degree in Belgium, training as a veterinary assistant before securing an aquarium internship for her thesis on dolphins’ food preferences.
“When I went to do my internship, they actually had a job opening there,” she said. “I was like, ‘If that job is still open by the time I’m finished with my bachelor’s degree, I’m going to apply for that and become a dolphin trainer.’
“But then the slot got filled by him.” Despite finding Will attractive, Katy admits his personality initially rubbed her the wrong way.

“I found him attractive. There was sexual tension, but I found him rude and arrogant,” she said. I would ask him questions and he would be like, ‘I don’t know.
“That’s not my job. Ask your mentor.’”
But she soon began noticing him differently. “He would go and train the dolphins and he’d have his wetsuit half off,” she said.

“Because he’s quite fit, I could see his muscles and I found him very attractive.” Katy later discovered the half-zipped wetsuit wasn’t entirely accidental.
“He was always casually like, ‘Oh, can you help me zip up?’ And I was like, ‘Oh, of course.’”
In another bizarre coincidence, Will told Katy his ideal woman would be an adult content model – despite Katy not being one at the time. “I had nothing like that going on at the time, but I said, ‘You know what?

“I’ve thought about doing that before.’” Katy was still in another relationship, so nothing initially happened between them.
But her feelings became harder to ignore after she had a decidedly NSFW dream about her co-worker. “I said, ‘You know, I had a dream about you last night. I dreamt that I was giving you a blowjob,’” she recalled.
Katy maintained she wasn’t going to act on it while still in a relationship, but around a week later, that relationship ended. “I was like, ‘I don’t get any attention.
“I have to do all the cooking, all the cleaning. We never go out.’ And he was like, ‘Well, that’s your fault for allowing it.’

Once Katy was single, the simmering attraction finally boiled over. The pair had planned to meet before work, but Katy’s tyre suddenly blew, leaving her stranded.
“He actually biked to me and came and inspected the car,” Katy said. He sat in the car with me and was like, ‘Well, what do we do now? I’ve got to go to work.’”
She recalled: “I kind of just felt his bicep because I wanted to feel his muscles. I was like, ‘Okay, I just need to cop a feel here.’

“Then we basically kissed in the car and made out.” From there, their secret workplace romance quickly became steamier.
“After work we would wait until everyone left and we would have sex in the car,” she said. “We were keeping it quiet because we didn’t want to lose his job or my internship,” Katy said.
Ironically, their colleagues eventually worked it out because of a far more innocent habit. “He would make me tea at work during the break time and we would sit and have a cup of tea together,” Katy said.

“People were like, ‘You guys are dating because you guys are drinking tea together.’ That was actually the funniest way they found out.”
After finishing her studies, Katy worked as a veterinary assistant with dogs and cats but wanted greater financial freedom and the chance to pursue modelling. With Will encouraging her, she eventually launched an adult content account.
“It actually exploded pretty much after the second or third month,” Katy said. “So much so that I could actually quit working and just do it full-time.”
Katy now says she has no plans to return to a traditional nine-to-five career.
