English WAG who supported Argentina at World Cup has contract ripped up after eight weeks
Tottenham and Argentina star Marcos Senesi’s WAG made headlines at the World Cup and has mutually agreed to terminate her contract
Kelci-Rose Bowers made a splash after supporting Argentina against England at the World Cup. And the English WAG of Spurs defender Marcos Senesi has now agreed to leave Hashtag United Women after just eight weeks at the club.
Bowers, who was born in England, was slammed when cheered on Sensei’s Argentina in the semi-finals at World Cup by fans on social media. But after the semi-final clash, she took to Instagram with a four-word admission: “Proud of my country.”
Bowers began her youth career with Chelsea before playing college football in America. She joined Portsmouth Women in July 2023 but left for Bournemouth on loan in 2024. After making the move permanent, she helped capture the FA Women’s National League Division One South West title.
It was on the South Coast that she met Senesi, who had become a Cherry two years prior. The two hit it off and began dating in 2024. At this summer’s World Cup, after the central defender received an Argentina call-up, Bowers was torn.
The 22-year-old, who made six appearances for England at youth level, wore an Argentina shirt for the Three Lions semi-final clash in support of her beau. This move didn’t go down too well on social media.
Ahead of the tournament, it was confirmed that Senesi would be joining Tottenham after his Bournemouth deal expired. He headed to London post-World Cup and Bowers opted to follow him, completing a free transfer to Hashtag United. But, after just eight weeks with her new side, she has left.

Bowers had made three appearances for Hashtag this season, playing 225 minutes, including the full 90 minutes against her former side, Bournemouth, which she lost 4-1.
However, in a statement released by the club on Thursday, Hashtag United confirmed that Bowers’ contract had been mutually terminated immediately. “The club can confirm Kelci-Rose Bowers has left the club via mutual termination. We welcomed Kelci to the club this summer following her relocation from Bournemouth,” it read.
“But, unfortunately, the move has not worked out and the club have agreed to her transfer to another FAWNL club. We’d like to wish Kelci the best in this next chapter of her career.”
It has not been made clear where Bowers will play her football next, despite the mention of another FA Women’s National League outfit. However, considering Senesi plays for Spurs, it is likely to be in the London area.
Opening up about how the two met, Bowers told The Times: “We were both invited to model the club’s retro kit launch at an old American-style diner on the beachfront.”
“It was actually my first week after signing for the club, and I hadn’t really met anyone yet. During the shoot, we had a few group photos together, as well as a couple of shots with just the two of us. Afterwards, we started chatting on Instagram. Looking back now, it’s really special that we have those photos from the very first day we met.”
