Dad stabs 17-year-old twins to loss of life and kills himself in double murder-suicide

A man has killed his two twins and then himself in a shocking murder-suicide. Police investigated the family home after a neighbour called emergency services asking for a wellness check on the family

A father stabbed his 17-yeartwins to death before he took his own life in a horrific murder-suicide, police said. Ivan Montiel Roa, 63, took the lives of his two kids, Carlo and Melanie Montiel Infantino, at their apartment in Orlando, Florida.

Orange County Sheriff’s Office said officers found the teens’ bodies bloodied from multiple stab wounds in the living room of the apartment. Roa was found dead inside the master bedroom.

After the incident a worried neighbour called 911 for a wellness check on the household and said they hadn’t seen the family in about a week. Authorities stated: “At this time, detectives believe Ivan murdered Carlo and Melanie and then committed suicide.”

Police did not state when they thought the shocking killings occurred. And have not stated how the teens’ father killed himself. Florida Representative Rita Harris, who lives near the scene of the crime, stated: “There are no words that can make sense of a loss like this.

“I am also thinking of the first responders and law enforcement officers who carry the weight of what they encounter in service to our community.”

Public records have revealed the teens’ mother – Montiel Roa’s wife – died in June this year. According to the woman’s obituary the family were from Venezuela.

Montiel Roa’s Facebook has revealed he was a realtor and also had a construction business – which was dissolved in September. The man had a strange social media footprint. And would repost odd conspiracy theories and posts about a “new world order” on Facebook.

In an odd December 2025 post he wrote: “Introduce a little anarchy, alter the established order and everything turns into chaos. I am an agent of chaos.”

The post seemingly quoted a line from the 2008 “The Dark Knight” film. The development comes after a previous murder suicide after a mother shot her four-year-old daughter to death before turning the gun on herself.

It is believed the mum was distraught after a recent custody battle with the girl’s father had not gone well for her.

Cibelle Savella, 35, was supposed to hand over her daughter, Vivian, to her ex-husband, Aaron Savella, on Tuesday night – but instead went home and shot the youngster dead before the handover was due to take place before killing herself.

The horror incident happened in Texas, US, and police spoke out to give a statement in the aftermath of the devastation.

Houston Police Lieutenant Larry Crowson said: “There was a custody hearing earlier today that didn’t go well for the mother. She came home, shot her 4-year-old, and then shot herself.”

It is believed the girl died immediately but the mum was alive when emergency teams responded to the calls of distress, thought to be from neighbours. She was initially hospitalised but died a day later.
