Truth behind Florida aircraft crash theories – ‘shot down’, Trump hyperlink and no particles

The internet has erupted with various theories following the tragic Learjet 60 crash in Florida – the lack of visible debris from the crash has many questioning what happened in the horror

The devastating private jet crash that left nine dead has sparked wild online rumours. The Learjet 60 nosedived into a road in a residential area of Florida on Sunday afternoon.

Footage of the terrifying incident showed the $2million aircraft exploding into a massive fireball in Greenacres, Palm Beach County – eight miles from Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort. Despite all indications suggesting the tragedy was an accident and the victims being named, wild speculation has emerged online.

Conspiracy theorists have suggested the plane was actually a missile shot by a US enemy, that the jet was shot down by air defences around Trump’s estate while others have questioned why there appeared to be no wreckage in the aftermath footage. One confused social media user questioning the crash took to X and said: “I don’t get it — I’m genuinely curious to where any of the plane wreckage is. That just looks like a massive empty crater.”

Another theorist penned: “That was a goddamn missile. There is no way that’s an aircraft or a plane crash. We’ve all seen plane crashes, they’re strewn with debris. There’s dead bodies, there ‘s f****** collateral damage.

“There’s s*** hitting the fan everywhere. This was not a fucking plane crash.”

A third added: ”Many people are raising legitimated questions about the ‘aircraft crash’ in Florida.

“No aircraft debris, hole not big enough and flat bottomed, no charring to the earth, surroundings and telegraph pole. Where are the engines and wreckage?”

Justin Crabbe, commercial pilot and founder of Jettly, asked why there is so little obvious plane wreckage at the crash site and dropped an explanation.

Speaking to LADbible Crabbe said: “A high-energy impact like that can break an aircraft into very small pieces, with much of the wreckage concentrated around the impact point rather than scattered over a large area.”

The aviation expert added the amount of visible debris produced from a plane crash heavily depends on the “speed, angle of impact, the surface it strikes and whether there was a post-impact fire.”

Despite the numerous conspiracy theories lingering around the crash, dashcam footage of the incident and audio from the aircraft has confirmed the horror was a result of the Learjet 60 nose diving into the ground after it issued a horrifying mayday call.

The aircraft had departed from Austin, Texas, and was heading to the Bahamas. It disappeared from flight-tracking websites after plunging 27,000ft in 60 seconds.

Horrific footage shows the moment the plane burst into a fireball in Greenacres, Palm Beach County, as chilling audio revealed the terrified pilot screaming “holy f**k, we’re out of time,” seconds earlier.

Terry Tozer, an ex airline pilot with over 20 years in the aviation industry, fears the plane went through a deadly trio of circumstances which sparked the disaster.

He told The Sun the most likely cause was poor weather with heavy rain and thunderstorms moving through Palm Beach County at the time which he believes made flying the aircraft to safety near impossible.

He said: “I think it was weather related. You would normally make strenuous efforts to go round a thunderstorm. In thunderstorms you can get severe icing, severe turbulence and both of those are potentially hazardous. It would appear that the storm cell they entered was developing very rapidly and it looks as if it caught them out.

“So if they accrued an awful lot of ice on the airframe, that may have affected the handling of the aircraft.”
