Tucker Carlson Marks The ‘End Of The Trump Era’ In Devastating Midterms Postmortem

Tucker Carlson — who joined Donald Trump on the final stretch of the campaign trail two years ago — is now blaming the “biggest blowout of our lifetimes” on the president after Republicans were steamrolled on Election Day.

“Well, that was a disaster,” the ex-Fox News host and one-time MAGA loyalist said just seconds into the latest episode of his podcast on Wednesday.

“And not just a metaphorical disaster but a real disaster. More like the Lusitania sinking than rain at the wedding reception.”

Carlson — who gave his au revoirs to the GOP in June after breaking with Trump on his Iran war and his ties to Israel — said Tuesday’s red wipeout marked the “end of the Trump era” and was a direct response to his second term so far.

He argued that if you speak with his 2024 supporters, they’d say the midterm results were disastrous but acknowledge that they aren’t “entirely sad” about them.

“In other words, this may not be what we deserve but it’s definitely what the Republican Party deserves,” said Carlson, who has teased starting a third party but has backed away from talk that he’ll run for president in 2028.

The podcaster proceeded to lay out his issues with a number of Trump’s preferred-turned-failed 2026 candidates, including Sen. Darline Graham (R-S.C.), stressing that her late brother’s championing of the unpopular war in Iran “destroyed” the GOP.

“Maybe we don’t try and resurrect the failed and frankly repulsive and antihuman policies of Lindsey Graham through his sister, his hapless sister,” he said.

“It did feel like — this is an overused phrase but it’s a real one — a humiliation ritual. Just give them Lindsey Graham’s sister. They’ll vote for anything.”

Carlson turned his attention to Texas Gov. Greg Abbott’s (R) failed bid for a historic fourth term, noting that he was in favor of data centers, a “super unpopular” position.

“And so once again, they lost in a way that is generational. In fact, almost kind of no matter what they do, given the numbers of it, if you game it out, there’s kind of no coming back for a generation,” he said.
