Buffer brothers have astonishing net worth – more than Conor McGregor and Tyson Fury

Fight fans will be shocked to learn that Michael and Bruce Buffer have a combined net worth which blows the likes of Tyson Fury and Conor McGregor out of the water.

The Buffer brothers have simultaneously become the voices of boxing and the UFC respectively. Michael’s iconic pre-fight line “let’s get ready to rumble” is known all around the world, and Bruce’s electric catchphrase “it’s time” sets the tone ahead of Octagon bouts.

While they are both important part of events around the world, most people would expect the scrapping stars who follow them to take home much more money – but that’s not the case.

Between them, Michael, 75, and Bruce, 63, have an estimated wealth of nearly £350million. The former does the heavy lifting thanks to his trademark, which has helped him earn in excess of $400m (£338m).

Bruce hasn’t done bad for himself by any stretch, though, with $12m (£10.1m) to his name according to celebrity net worth.

In comparison, McGregor is said to be around the $200m (£168.9m) mark thanks to his ventures in and out of the cage, while Fury has racked up approximately £130m from his in-ring career.

The fact that announcers Michael and Bruce have individually enjoyed such success is astounding enough, but it’s all the more impressive when you learn they didn’t know each other for a large chunk of their lives.

Their dad Joe left Michael’s mum to fight in World War II and they divorced soon after, with Michael later going into foster care. He took on a new surname but was forced to revert to Buffer when he joined the US Army himself.

Bruce, at this point in his late 20’s, saw him on TV working a boxing event in 1984, which ultimately led to them meeting for the first time five years later.

They soon became business partners, with Bruce helping Michael trademark “let’s get ready to rumble” for £300m, and Michael helping Bruce get his UFC role. And the rest is history.
