Prince Harry’s pals think Meghan is a ‘500% nightmare’, claims royal commentator

Meghan Markle “can be a 500% nightmare,” Prince Harry’s pals have reportedly admitted.

Royal expert Robert Lacey said friends of the couple had confessed they can understand why Harry’s estranged brother Prince William is frustrated by the former Suits star’s antics.

Writing for the Daily Mail, Lacey said: “Sussex supporters have noted the bizarre combination of self-promotion and self-pity that characterises Meghan, and can see why it has infuriated William.

“‘Meghan can be a 500% nightmare,’ some close friends of Harry are among the first to admit. ‘The never-ending PR. She’s just so . . . American!’”

Harry and William reportedly fell out not long after Meghan joined the Royal Family

Lacey claimed William and Harry’s mutual friends had been hoping for a reconciliation and were urging the brothers to put aside their differences after the pair fell out several year ago.

“[The brothers’] friends made up a particularly tightly knit network until the moment of Meghan’s arrival – and when the fraternal split followed, for all its depth and bitterness, the circle of friends did not, in fact, take rival sides,” he said.

“All the mutual friends I have encountered find themselves seeing both points of view – William’s defensiveness of the monarchy as he sees it, and Harry’s defensiveness of his wife.

“Love versus duty. This is what makes it so painful.”

William is focused on defending his family and the royal name, while Harry’s loyalties lie with Meghan, says Lacey

The Princes’ friends were reportedly hoping for a reconciliation at Prince Philip’s funeral, Lacey added – but sadly it was not meant to be.

“In April, the sad news of Prince Philip’s death seemed to offer a glimmer of hope,” Lacey wrote.

“The family gathering for their grandfather’s funeral would bring the warring brothers together in an atmosphere of reflection.

“But those hopes were dashed within minutes of the siblings getting inside the castle and beyond camera vision. They started quarrelling again.

“‘There they were, at each other’s throats as fiercely as ever,’ relates one long-time friend with a tired and helpless shrug.

“‘The rage and anger between those two has grown so incredibly deep. Too many harsh and wounding things have been said.’”

Harry and Meghan’s Netflix documentary detailing their experiences in the Royal Family will be released later this week

Lacey’s report comes following the release of a second trailer for Harry and Meghan’s upcoming Netflix documentary.

The preview, published on Monday (December 5), contains a series of bombshell claims aimed at the Royal Family, with Harry claiming “we know the full truth”.

“There’s a hierarchy of the family,” Harry narrates over clips of the series.

“You know, there’s leaking, but there’s also planting of stories.”

Meanwhile, a commentator featured in the documentary is heard explaining: “There was a war against Meghan to suit other people’s agendas,” while another chimes in: “It’s about hatred. It’s about race.”

It’s a dirty game,” Harry adds.

The first three episodes of the six-part series will be available to watch from Thursday, December 8, while the final instalments will be released on December 15.
