Harry Maguire buries the hatchet with Erik ten Hag after messages while at World Cup
Harry Maguire has buried the hatchet with Erik ten Hag after receiving some good luck messages from the Manchester United boss.
Maguire has endured a difficult relationship with the Dutchman since he took charge of United in June. The England ace found himself frozen out at Old Trafford following a loss of form and injuries.
Maguire featured in just four Premier League games for United before the season was put on hold for the World Cup in Qatar. Maguire lost his place in the United team to new signing Lisandro Martinez and had to look on from the sidelines.

But Maguire and Ten Hag have put their differences to one side – after the defender revealed his club boss and his coaching staff have been texting him to wish him well at the World Cup with England.

How do you feel Harry Maguire has performed at the World Cup? And should he figure in Man Utd’s starting XI when the Premier League returns? Let us know in the comments section.
“I think while I am away they want me to focus fully on England, but I have had a couple of nice texts from them saying how well I’ve performed and congratulations on reaching the quarter-finals and things like that.
“It’s nice. I think they’re currently away in sunny Spain… I actually think it is raining over there.
“I am sure they’ll be watching the games. I am sure Erik will be supporting the Oranje army. I’ve had a couple of texts and it is good to feel the support of them.”
Maguire’s England and Ten Hag’s homeland are on course to meet in the final on December 18 – if everything goes to plan. The Three Lions need to defeat France and either Morocco or Portugal to book their spot in Lusail later this month.
The Netherlands need to overcome Lionel Messi’s Argentina and either favourites Brazil or Croatia, if they reach the semi-finals of the tournament.
