Texans practice squad running back Darius Anderson, 24, is charged with burglary

Texans practice squad running back Darius Anderson was charged on Friday with burglary of habitation after allegedly breaking into a woman’s Houston home and stealing some of her shoes, it has been revealed.

Anderson was arrested on Friday after a woman accused him of breaking into her home and chasing her. She was able to call the police from a bathroom, where she had barricaded herself.  The former TCU star allegedly left after the woman phoned 911, but not until taking some of her shoes on the way out the door.

Anderson is not currently in custody and will be arraigned in court on Wednesday, according to court records.

He was originally charged with burglary with intent to rape, but that turned out to be an officials’ coding error and the charge was changed to burglary of habitation.

Texans practice squad running back Darius Anderson was charged on Friday with burglary of habitation after allegedly breaking into a woman’s Houston home and stealing some of her shoes, it has been revealed

The two had been in an on-again-off-again relationship, according to the woman, who told police that they last broke up two months earlier.

However, she added, Anderson had been staying at her residence occasionally since their split, although he did not have permission to enter the premises without an invitation.

As she explained to police, she returned home at 7am on Friday after getting coffee, and noticed that Anderson’s car was parked in her driveway.

According to the charging document provided to DailyMail.com, she did not want to see Anderson, so she continued driving and he quickly followed in pursuit. Once she felt that she had lost him, she returned home and went inside.

However, as she closed the garage door, Anderson returned and forced his way into the house, knocking her to the floor.

‘Complainant stated that she attempted to close the door from the garage leading to the inside of the residence, but the Defendant was able to force the door open onto her, causing her to fall on the stars leading to the residential portion of her townhome,’ she told police, according to the complaint.

‘Complainant stated that she hit her shoulder and chest on the stairs, causing her pain. Complainant stated that she ran upstairs to the second floor and the Defendant pursued her.’

From there she retrieved her gun off a nearby coffee table and she fled to her bedroom on the third floor and locked the door.

‘Complainant stated that the Defendant proceeded to come upstairs to her room and broke open the locked bedroom door,’ the complaint continued. ‘Complainant stated that the Defendant yelled that he was ”going to beat her up.”’

But before he could enter the bathroom, Anderson allegedly heard her calling the police and fled down the stairs.

Strangely, the woman accused him of stealing some of her shoes on the way out of her home.

‘Complainant stated that the Defendant grabbed an unknown number of the Complainant’s shoes that were by the front door while he was on the way down and took them with him,’ read the complaint.

It remains unclear why Anderson was allegedly trying to force his way into the home.

He had allegedly hit this woman in the past, she told police.

The NFL club said it is still trying to learn more about the criminal case.

‘We are aware of the report involving Darius Anderson,’ the Texans said in a statement. ‘We are gathering information and have no further comment at this time.’

Anderson, 24, has yet to play in an NFL game after spending four seasons at TCU.

He signed a reserve/futures contract with the Indianapolis Colts in 2021 before signing one with the Texans this past January after being added to the Texans’ practice squad last December.
