BREAKING Police called to probe Christmas Eve death of boy, 4, in pool at Longleat Center Parcs

Police have been called in to investigate the tragic Christmas Eve death of a young boy in a pool at Longleat Center Parcs.

Officers are working to establish the circumstances around the death of the four-year-old boy.

The youngsters death, which took place at Longleat Center Parcs on Christmas Eve, saw emergency services rush to the leisure complex.

Emergency services who responded to the tragic incident on Christmas Eve have said they do not think there are “any suspicious circumstances” surrounding the death.

A post-mortem is set to be undertaken, while a statement issued on Monday read: “We are working alongside HM Coroner for Wiltshire and Swindon following the death of a four-year-old boy at Center Parcs, Longleat.

“A post-mortem will take place in due course, however, at this time there are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances and our thoughts remain with the family at this difficult time.”

Holidaymakers at the Center Parcs branch had previously said the pool had been closed due to a “serious medical incident”.

Wiltshire Police had previously confirmed the tragic death on Christmas Eve, confirming the news through their Twitter account.



The Tropical Cyclone ride at Center Parcs in Longleat is the focus of an investigation after a raft flipped over, injuring a man and two children. The man was taken to hospital with suspected broken ribs, while both children suffered minor head injuries. They were a boy aged 12 and a girl aged 13. Center Parcs apologised for the upset caused but said it was “simply an unfortunate accident”. It happened on August 19. Wiltshire Council said a health and safety officer was investigating.

Their statement read: “Sadly, it has been confirmed that a four-year-old boy has died following an incident at Center Parcs Longleat Forest near Warminster shortly after 11am this morning (December 24).

“This is not being treated as suspicious. Our thoughts are with the boy’s family at this difficult time.”

A spokesperson for Center Parcs added: “We are deeply saddened by the tragic news that a young guest has passed away at Longleat Forest today (24th December).

“We are offering our support to the family and to our employees who provided immediate assistance. Our thoughts remain with the family at this very difficult time.”
