On Wednesday, she was charged with murder and will appear in custody at Uxbridge Magistrates’ Court later in the day.

Met Police officers had attended with the London Ambulance Service and London’s Air Ambulance.

A post-mortem examination found Ms Bennis’s cause of death to be multiple stab injuries.

Her next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.

Neighbours have described their shock in the wake of the woman’s death.

One, who did not want to be named, said that Ms Bennis, 58, had lived in the flat for 17 years and was ‘a nice person, very friendly’.
